Milwaukee Preseason ID: Statistical Analysis

PBR Wisconsin Staff

On March 19th, the PBR Wisconsin team hosted the annual Milwaukee Preseason ID, at Prospect Training Academy within The MOSH Performance Center in Franklin, Wis. This was an open event for all high school classes (2022-25) and gave our staff an ample look at the area's top players.

On Wednesday we published our biggest takeaways and highlights from Saturday’s showcase within our Quick Hits story. Today, we’ll dive right into the statistical side of things, analyzing Saturday’s top performers from several different statistical categories. Throughout the rest of this week, we’ll be diving deeper into all of the data we collected, too, with the help of our Blast Motion and TrackMan devices.

TAKEAWAYS

+ OF Owen Sullivan (Oak Creek, 2023; Western Illinois) started his day off by running a blazing 6.56 in the 60-yard dash, the fastest of the event. Then he went on to have the third hardest-hit ball of the event at 98.9 mph, driving the ball hard in the air. During his outfield defense, Sullivan’s athleticism was on full display, getting to the ball quick and topping out at 89 mph on his throws home, adding to an all-around solid performance from the Leatherneck commit.

+ We had the opportunity to get an up-to-date look at a premium arm in the 2023 class, RHP Jonah Conradt (P27 Academy, SC, 2023; Arkansas). Currently, Conradt is nestled in at No. 239 in our national rankings and he did not disappoint on Saturday. During his ‘pen, the recent PBR Future Game Participant threw his hardest bullet at 92.1 mph, an event high and sitting 91-92 exclusively.

+ Teammate of Conradt during the Future Games representing Team Wisconsin, RHP Presley Wachowiak (Brookfield East, 2023) was also in attendance. During his ‘pen, Wachowiak showed an uptick in his stuff, especially his fastball where he topped out 91.1 mph. Only adding to his stock as he remains a top uncommitted name in the states junior class.

+ RHP/OF Wyatt Rushing (Elkhorn, 2024) exploded onto the scene last fall during our Southern Wisconsin Open, where he topped at 90 mph during his ‘pen. On Saturday, he did just that, throwing his hardest fastball at 89.9 mph as just a sophomore. Rushing’s arm strength carries into the outfield as well as he had the hardest throw to home at 90 mph.

+ C Vidal Colon (University School, 2023) turned some heads on both sides of the ball during Saturday’s event. Colon’s offensive skill-set has always been his calling card and Saturday was no different as he had one the best rounds of BP of the event, hitting his hardest ball at 100.8 mph. Colon’s recent move to catcher seems to be working out well for him as he had the hardest throw down to second as well as the quickest pop times of the event, and some of the lowest we have seen all winter.
