With the #1 and #4 overall players in the class, California is well-stocked (once again) with impact talent, and the depth continues to grow with a staggering 18 players in the top 100. Both RHP/Util. Bryce Rainer (Harvard-Westlake, CA), a UCLA recruit, and CF Derek Curiel (Orange Lutheran HS, CA) each look the part of the top player in the state/country, and are sure to have scouts flocking to southern California in coming years. There is obvious talent at the top, but college coaches are sure to be pursuing it all as there is nearly equal strength throughout.
