#24 Midlothian Trojans
Midlo managed to pull a big upset in the first round of the regional playoffs last year and then had a hard fought, one run loss to the eventual state champions, the Douglas Freeman Mavericks. While the Trojans lost some pivotal pieces off of their 2022 team, they return the core of that young lineup that is a year older. They will need to find a way to replace staff ace Andrew Jones (VMI) and the versatile bat of Joe Gordon (Lynchburg), but have the pieces to do so. Hank Blanton (Hampden-Sydney) should pencil in as staff ace and will more than likely throw their big games. Another main piece on the mound could be Spencer Lloyd (Bridgewater). Lloyd threw some important innings for them last year and will have a chance to add to his contributions in 2023. Keep an eye out for sophomores Brady Paul and Evan Miller to be solid offensive pieces once again and will be nice compliments to clubhouse leaders Cole Feldman (George Mason) and Chase Chambers.
We have a game in Richmond. @MidloBaseball was down to their final out and final strike (x4) before ‘23 Cole Feldman (@MasonBaseball recruit) battles this 2K count and singles home 2 Trojans to tie it up.
