Today we are releasing our initial Virginia/DC Private School Top 10. Take a look at some notes on a few teams from inside the rankings.

  • St. John's comes in as the #1 Power 25 team, as well as the top ranked team in the Private School Top 10. The Cadets have played probably the second hardest schedule in the state thus far, only behind Miller School, and they have handled themselves well. Nate Hawton-Henley is on fire at the plate, and their pitching staff is just doing what they do, dominate.

  • While this is something we have discussed at length, Miller School has played the toughest schedule in the state. While they have had five losses, they do not have one single loss that is close to a bad loss. In addition to a tough schedule they have quality wins over St. Christopher's, Georgetown Prep (MD), and James Madison.

  • Atlantic Shores has shown a big jump this season. They have grinded their way to a 11-1 record, including wins over Cape Henry, Trinity Episcopal, Hickory, Norfolk Academy, and Benedictine. Three of those games have been one run victories.

  • St. Alban's comes in at the #10 spot. While the Bulldogs do have six losses, three of them came in a Florida tournament where they played seven games in six days. They do not have a "bad" loss, but they certainly do have the best private vs private win with their defeat of Miller School on Saturday.

  • Along with our Power 25 on Mondays, we will update our Private School Top 10 every Tuesday.
