New England Insider: Uncommitted Underclass Spotlight - Hunter O'Connor
Name: Hunter O'Connor
Position: LHP
School: Vergennes Union (VT)
Class: 2017
Scouting Report: Left-handed pitcher who pitches out of a ¾ arm slot and has a simple and methodical delivery. His delivery was an easy leg lift with on-line footing. The top half is simple and closed off at foot strike. The ball comes out of his hand nicely and touched an easy 78 mph. The fastball has run to it as well. The breaking ball had the correct shape to it, touching 62 mph as it is slurvy and sweepy. If he can add more fastball to it, he could have a good spin pitch cause the spin and shape are there. The changeup is 70 mph and needs action to it. He ran a 7.50 60-yard dash and showed good athleticism during his workout.
