This Monday, Lower Woodland Park hosted an intruiging Metro League matchup as Lakeside faced off against Bishop Blanchet. Some quality pitching and timely hits helped Lakeside come away with the victory, moving to 6-1 on the season. Below are scouting notes on standout players from both sides.

Lakeside vs. Bishop Blanchet (3.31.25)

Lakeside

'25 INF/RHP Teddy Tokheim (Stanford Commit)
The third ranked senior in the state, Tokheim's physicality and power tools stood out amongst his high school peers, despite a quieter day offensively for his standards. Righty bat starts in a quiet, balanced setup, with a leg lift load as his hands retract. Hands then direct to contact with a firm front side and a tight two-handed finish. Finished 1-3 with a HBP and a double. Also got the start on the mound, where his natural athleticism took over. FB sat 82-85 but topped out at 88.8 MPH with a SL in the low 70's to pair. The bat is the leading tool with legitimate draft upside, drawing a few pro scouts to attend Monday's game.

'26 C/RHP Tilden Hsu (Uncommitted)
Future Games alum with the most upside shown on the mound previously had the catching duties during this look. Strong arm behind the plate with quiet leadership skills shown. Switch-hitter only hit lefty on Monday, going 1-2 with a walk and a HBP. Highlight of his day was a line drive single to left-center, carrying a heavier barrel through the zone. Uncommitted junior to watch with a versatile game.

'26 INF David Fey (Uncommitted)
Junior was one of two Lions with multi-hit games, going 2-3 with a pair of singles and 2 RBI. Simple approach from the LH side, letting his size naturally add some power to the offensive profile. Was aggressive early in counts, staying up the middle of the field with a shorter swing. Made the routine play defensively at 2B.

'26 OF Sid Suri (Uncommitted)
Suri had his fingerprints all over this game, checking in with an RBI single early in the game and closing it out on the mound with two scoreless innings in relief. Offensively, featured a larger leg kick load from the RH side with a slap-type approach to all fields. Compact frame with developing arm strength in the outfield. Changed speeds on the mound with natural sinking action to the FB, with a final line of 2 IP, H, 0 R, 0 BB, K.

'25 1B Henry Dejanikus (Uncommitted)
The senior filled up the stat offensively, going 1-3 with a walk, a run scored and 2 RBI. Drove in the first runs of the game with a hard ground ball through the 6-hole that scored two. Showed a patient approach, shortening up when behind with loose wrists throughout. Stuck at 1B for the first portion of the game defensively, with some range shown. Athleticism likely sticks at a corner moving forward.

Bishop Blanchet

'27 OF/RHP Will Prinz (Uncommitted)
Sophomore looked the part of a top-10 ranked player in his state class. Finished just 1-4 offensively but just missed the barrel to find a couple more knocks. Maintains a tight turn through contact with a quick two-hand finish, mostly working to the pull side on Monday. Plus runner was in RF defensively but could easily stick at any of the three OF spots. Has also been up into the mid-80's with a three-pitch mix on the mound. Name to circle this summer.

'25 INF Mikey Rican (Uncommitted)
Arguably the best offensive performance out of Blanchet on what was a quiet day overall. Finished 2-4 with an RBI, highlighted by a double deep into the LCF gap in the third inning. Compact frame from the RH side extends through contact with a longer swing path. Frame and glove skills shown to stick up the middle at the next level as arm strength continues to develop. Talented uncommitted senior.

'25 RHP Brandon Burgess (Uncommitted)
The senior arm kept his team in the game with a strong relief appearance, finishing with a final line of 5.1 IP, 3 H, R, 10 K overall. Taller, lean frame utilized with a higher-slot release, letting the FB play to the top of the zone. Changed speeds with a slow 11/5 breaker in the 68-72 MPH range to pair with a FB that was up into the low 80's. Quick, whippy arm.

'25 INF Cole Allegro (Uncommitted)
Allegro joined Rican as the only two Bears to reach base more than once, going 2-3 with a pair of singles. Quick, loose RH swing had some rawness to it at times but was on time throughout. Stayed in the middle of the field, working into hitter's counts all game before turning the swing loose. Saw plenty of throws across to his spot defensively at 1B and made the plays needed.
