This Tuesday, defending 3A state champions West Seattle traveled to play Bonney Lake, an intruiging side that has recently moved up to 4A. Both sides had talented prospects in what was a close, low scoring game. Below are scouting notes and video clips of standout players.
West Seattle vs. Bonney Lake (3.18.25)
West Seattle
'26 RHP Jake McCall (Uncommitted)
The junior was the star of the game, with an outstanding complete game effort on the mound. Attacked the zone early and often with all three pitches, including a FB 81-83 with some ride, a plus CB 68-71 with sharp downward bite, and a CH 71-74 that killed spin well. Changed speeds constantly, had hitters off-balance and expanding the zone. Controlled tempo in delivery. Final line: 7 IP, 2 H, R, BB, 12 K. One of the most impressive early-season performances on the mound in Washington.

'26 INF Cody Buehring (Uncommitted)
Second baseman was the biggest standout offensively for the Wildcats, finishing 2-4 with a double and an RBI hitting in the two hole. Buehring worked a couple of deep counts in this one, showing a keen eye for the strike zone, and attacked mistake pitches when they came. Medium frame, was on the barrel to the pull side with quickness out of the box. Made a couple of routine plays in limited defensive action as well.

'25 C Cody Sazama (Uncommitted)
The senior backstop will get his first extended varsity action this spring, and was a large part of the successful battery on Tuesday afternoon. Presented clear targets and stole multiple strikes with frames. Reached base twice from the bottom of the order and drove in a run on what was a tough day for offenses. Balanced RH swing with small stride load.
'25 INF Clay Pecore (Uncommitted)
Pecore got the start at shortstop and had a sound showing on both sides of the ball. Offensively, finished 1-3 and scored twice. Dropped in a double down the RF line early in the game to jump-start the bats for the Wildcats. High hands start forward with an uphill barrel path in a RH swing. Quicker, soft hands defensively fit well up the middle. Senior will be an important piece this spring.

'27 OF Cole Williamson (Uncommitted)
Intruiging upside shown despite quieter day overall. Strong, physical frame for underclass status. Drew a pair of walks and scored a run offensively, showing plate discipline on the afternoon. Powerful levers with quiet head in swing. Frame and athleticism fit in a corner outfield role. Underclassman to keep an eye on.
Bonney Lake
'25 INF Eli Hubbard (Uncommitted)
Aggressive, scrappy game shown from the jump. Up-tempo player had strong INF/OF look that carried over in-game with multiple defensive plays made. Had one of two hits on the day for BL with a hard-hit RBI single late. Quick turn from the RH side with a flatter barrel path that stays through the zone. Impressive showing.

Second baseman also made multiple ranging plays defensively. Twitchy actions with mature overall game@BLP_Baseball pic.twitter.com/CLyyl5ufFR
'26 C Evan Hellner (Uncommitted)
Backstop showed tremendous maturity defensively, while just missing a couple of barrels at the plate. Excellent blocking skills with wide base and ability to move well. Confident framing of pitches, positive body language with arms throughout the afternoon as well. Taller LH setup at the plate, small hip turn load with longer finish. Accelerates through contact. Strong 6'2 frame. Uncommitted junior to circle.
'25 RHP Keegan Parker (Uncommitted)
Senior had a quality two-way showing. Dropped a double down the line, catching one off the end of the bat to break up a no-hit bid late in the game. Also kept the Panthers in it on the mound, working 2.1 scoreless innings while striking out 5. Gave up just a single hit and walk, working his fastball into the low 80's. Simple, short wind with controlled follow through.

'25 LHP Trent Blake (Uncommitted)
Blake got the start for the Panthers and flashed some raw stuff despite working through some control issues. The FB topped out at 85 MPH early and settled more in the 82-83 range afterwards. Flipped over a CB at 68-70 MPH with a CH at 75-76 from time to time. Longer, fluid arm action with slight cross-body delivery and lower gloveside follow. Thin frame with potential to add strength and jumps in velocity.
