TOP 10 BREAKDOWN:

Thomas Shank SS / OF / Rock Canyon, CO / 2028

At this year’s Super Sophomore Games in Kansas City, Shank made a strong impression as one of the top young prospects at the event. The left-handed hitter showcased his outlier twitch at the plate, producing multiple extra-base hits and consistently finding the barrel with advanced feel in the box. Shank’s athleticism continues to develop, posting a 6.9 60-yard dash, an 86 mph arm from the outfield, and showing the ability to play a true centerfield during the games. The ceiling on Shank is very high as a position player as he continues to develop, and he is now a nationally ranked Prep Baseball prospect.

Connor Thrush OF / RHP / Cherokee Trail, CO / 2028

During this summer's Super Sophomore Games, Thrush showcased a promising three-pitch mix and the type of physicality that points to big upside moving forward. Working out of a strong and athletic 6’1” frame, Thrush ran his fastball up to 86 mph with an average of 12.3 inches of horizontal movement, creating difficult angles for hitters. He paired it with a sharp 71–75 mph slider that spun around 2300 rpm, along with a developing changeup at 71–72 mph to round out his arsenal. With present strength, athletic movements on the mound, and room to continue adding velocity, Thrush profiles as an arm with significant projection along with some two-way upside as well. This spring at the 5A level in Colorado, Thrush chucked 17.1 innings with 19 Ks, 10 walks, and 14 hits allowed.

Travis Kenz SS / RHP / Valor Christian, CO / 2028

Kenz has established himself as one of Colorado’s premier young hitters, currently slotted as the state’s No. 3 ranked prospect in the class. The 6-foot, 170-pound left-handed hitter shows an advanced offensive profile with a +hit tool, excellent plate coverage, and the ability to drive the ball to all fields. During the Super Sophomore Games, Kenz presented a high barrel rate with minimal swings and misses, along with a 96 mph max exit velocity during the workout. We can also tell you that as a freshman this spring at the 5A level, Kenz hit .343 across 83 plate appearances. With his offensive polish, athletic actions, and ability to stick on the infield, Kenz projects as a high-level prospect to follow closely in Colorado’s 2028 class.

Brady Harman SS / 2B / Chatfield, CO / 2028

At this year’s Super Sophomore Games, Harman put together a steady showing as one of Team Colorado’s most consistent swings. The left-handed hitter was a quality at-bat machine throughout the weekend, flashing some pop out of a simple, compact approach while leveraging a strong lower half to drive the baseball. Harman posted an exit velocity north of 90 mph during the showcase portion and ran a 7.00 60-yard dash, showing a blend of strength and athleticism that pairs well with his ability to handle a premium infield position. This spring, Harman mashed 3 homeruns to go with a .356 average for the 5A Chatfield Chargers.

Holden Goodrich C / OF / Arvada West, CO / 2028

Goodrich brings a strong blend of physical tools and arm strength that make him an intriguing follow in the 2028 class. The 6-foot backstop posted a 101.6 mph max exit velocity in BP, showing the raw power potential in his frame, while his barrel works through the zone with natural strength. Defensively, Goodrich stands out with an 80 mph catcher throwing velocity, and has further demonstrated his arm talent by previously running his fastball up to 86 mph on the mound. During the Super Sophomore Games, Goodrich found many barrels and presented a confident two-strike approach when he doubled late in the count during Team Colorado's first game of the weekend. In a small 45 plate appearance sample, Goodrich posted a .904 OPS for his 5A Arvada West Wildcats.

Brayden Moreno OF / LHP / Pine Creek, CO / 2028

Yet another left-handed bat to follow closely in this class is Brayden Moreno, who stands out for his advanced offensive and physical projection. At 6-foot-2, 174 pounds with a high-waisted frame, Moreno shows rare barrel control and consistent bat-to-ball skills, paired with a disciplined approach that keeps his whiff rate low. His ability to control the strike zone and consistently produce hard contact all over the field seperates him in this class, while the frame suggests there’s still plenty of strength to come. Moreno hit for a .512 average as a freshman at the 5A level this spring, and is one of the more unique follows in Colorado’s 2028 class.

Kai Wagner OF / RHP / Rocky Mountain, CO / 2028

Wagner was one of Colorado's most dominant freshman arms this spring thanks to tossing 36 innings with 50 Ks and just 16 walks allowed. He parlayed that success into a start at this summer's Super Sophomore Games where he posted a fastball from 84-86 mph with an average spin rate of 2400 rpm to go with a quality slider at 72-76 mph. Wagner has an athletic frame and actively developing stuff on the mound which makes him a strong follow in this class.

Nick Dubofsky RHP / 1B / Boulder High School, CO / 2028

Dubofsky broke out this summer at the Colorado State Games, showing why he’s a name to watch in the 2028 class. The 6’3”, 190-pound righty combines a loose, projectable arm with feel for spin, delivering his fastball 84–86.5 mph (~2350 rpm) and a slider at 72–75 mph spinning around 2750 rpm. He complements his pitching with athleticism and a smooth pace on the mound, projecting well as he continues to grow and add strength. Offensively, he carries a max exit velocity of 94.2 mph and an infield arm clocked at 84 mph, giving him two-way upside as both a potential middle-of-the-order bat and a front-line arm in the future.

Kolten De Groot 1B / RHP / Arvada West, CO / 2028

De Groot is the final arm in the top 10 and he comes in with a sky-high 6-foot-7 frame. As a freshman for the Arvada West Wildcats this spring, De Groot tossed 25 innings with 44 Ks and 8 walks allowed. De Groot's fastballs works in the mid 80s while he has a slew of off-speed pitches to go to in his slider, curveball, and changeup. The underclassman has some advanced feel on the mound and is a name to circle in this class.

Mason Clark SS / OF / Fossil Ridge, CO / 2028

Clark comes with potentially the highest ceiling athletically in this class thanks to a 6.80 60-yard dash time out of his 5'11'' frame. The switch-hitting prospect has achieved exit velocities over 90 mph from each side of the plate during events to go with his 83 mph infield throwing velocity from shortstop. This spring, Clark hit .343 across 48 plate appearances at the 5A level. Clark projects well as a top of the order bat with a frame to dream on as he continues to develop.

FEATURED PROSPECTS:

Jameson Wheeler 3B / RHP / Palmer Ridge, CO / 2028

Wheeler was one of the top relief arms for Team Colorado at the Super Sophomore Games and comes with some true two-way potential. The fastball topped out at 81 mph for Wheeler during the games but what really stood out was his high pitchability and feel for his full arsenal. Wheeler has a repeatable delivery out of a durable frame while his fastball and slider combination was highly effective against some stout hitters. At the plate, Wheeler showcases an exit velocity up to 101 mph and hit for a .302 average this spring with 4 doubles, a triple, and 2 homeruns across 69 plate appearances.

Jake Orvis SS / 3B / Broomfield, CO / 2028

Orvis is another switch-hitting middle-infielder worth a close follow in this class. At the 5A level across 74 plate appearances this spring, Orvis hit for a .340 average and presented the ability to handle himself in the infield. Out of a light and wiry frame, Orvis competes in the box and has some more strength on the way to give him real upside in the coming years.

Brody Duran SS / 2B / University, CO / 2028

Duran is a quick and athletic middle infielder with tools that stand out for his age. At 5’9’’, 165 pounds, he runs a 6.91 60-yard dash and hit .360 this spring as a freshman through 109 plate appearances. We have also seen Duran up to a 98.3 mph max exit velocity during events to go with his 80 mph arm from the infield with feel. Duran projects well all-around and could be a close follow in 2026.

Colton Osmulski RHP / 1B / Denver East, CO / 2028

Osmulski had a strong showing at this year's Super Sophomore games and comes with plenty of upside on the mound thanks to his 6'5'' frame with pitchability. The right-hander posted a fastball up to 83.2 mph during the games with a strong curveball (~2500 rpm) and a serviceable changeup around 77 mph. This spring, Osmulski pitched 20.2 innings with 24 Ks.

Owen Lee 3B / RHP / Broomfield, CO / 2028

Lee is a versatile, athletic prospect with a well-rounded skill set. At 6-foot, 185 pounds, he combines a projectable frame with solid athleticism, running a 7.05 60-yard dash and showing an 83 mph infield arm. On the mound, Lee features a four-pitch mix with a fastball topping out at 85 mph, a high-spin curveball at 69–70 mph (T2720 rpm), an advanced slider at 71–76 mph (T2759 rpm), and a changeup at 74–75 mph (~1600 rpm), giving him multiple options to develop as a pitcher. Offensively, he shows pop with a max exit velocity of 97.4 mph, suggesting he could profile as a two-way contributor. With his combination of arm talent, feel for spin, athleticism, and strength, Lee projects as a potentially high-upside prospect on both sides of the ball.
