It is that time of the year once again, as our staff updates the Class of 2027 across Maryland and Delaware for the first time of 2025. This update sees slight movement in the top 10 with substantial movement throughout the Top 100 following the winter events. Below, we take an in-depth look at the Top 100 and highlight three players who are top players to watch as we head into the spring.

Malcolm Blaqman RHP / SS / Home School, MD / 2027Rankings StateRank: 3 / POS: 2
One of, if not the top performer at our MD Preseason All-State II showcase over the winter, the two-way standout showcases some of the top athleticism and pure strength of anyone in the class. At the dish, the hands are fluid and active, working with plenty of intent and advanced bat speed through the zone, slashing upwards of 99 mph exit velocities. It's a controlled gap-to-gap approach with power numbers quickly on the rise as he continues to fill out the frame. On the bump, the fastball explodes out of the hand into the upper 80s with plenty left in the tank, mixing a harder, slurve type breaking ball with late bite into the 2600s. The difference maker is the chnageup and as the feel increases, makes for a true three-pitch arsenal that should only get better and crisper as the maturity sets in. Blaqman rises inside the top three for the first time, and don't be surprised if he continues to rise as his high school career rolls on. |

Brandon Emig RHP / SS / Salesianum, DE / 2027Rankings StateRank: 13 / POS: 6
An arm that caught my attention early at the DE Preseason All-State was Emig, as the 6-foot right-hander stole the show on the bump. Present arm speed out of an atheltic makeup, Emig works with intent and shows impressive feel for a four pitch mix. The fastball shows plenty of ride in the mid to upper 80s with the ability to dot to both sides of the plate and is most effective when down in the zone, showcasing the ability to work it well off the late fading changeup. The slider is still developing but certainly shows promise and couples it with a low 80s cutter in the zone. As this frame matures and muscle mass is developed, look for this arm to explode onto the scene in 2025 as the spring and summer months approach |

Luke Crawford C / OF / GEORGETOWN PREPARATORY SCHOOL, MD / 2027Rankings StateRank: 25 / POS: 3
One of the many standouts last fall, Crawford continues to make strides and add his name to the numerous top-end talented players across this class. The maturity and moxie at the plate grabs attention consistently, showcasing a smooth and controlled approach with the ability to spray line drives to the gaps and alley. The barrel awareness is some of the best in the class, and look for power numbers to increase as the frame fills. |
