PNW Preseason All-State - Uncommitted 2025 Prospects
March 10, 2025
On Monday February 17th, Prep Baseball PNW hosted Pacific Northwest Preseason All-State at The Hub Indoor Sports Complex in Centralia, WA. The premier invite-only event of the preseason featured Washington and Oregon athletes in the 2025-2028 graduating classes, with several outstanding showings throughout the day.
Preseason All-State serves as an identifier heading into the spring high school season, providing Prep Baseball scouts and college recruiters a list of prospects to follow as they plan their spring coverage. We also tend to see prospects’ best performances in the preseason, as most athletes are fresh and coming off of strict and targeted off-season training programs that have resulted in big gains. Standout performances can lead to invitations to some of the summer's biggest invite-only events, including the Pacific Northwest State Games, Prep Baseball Future Games, and more.
Today we release our 2025 Uncommitted Prospect Quick Hits, detailing scouting notes on uncommitted 2025 graduates from the event from both Washington and Oregon
PNW PRESEASON ALL STATE UNCOMMITTED 2025 PROSPECTS
‘25 OF/1B Jayden Costa (Mountlake Terrace, WA)
6’3 frame with projection left. Strong OF profile with size/speed/power combination. Offensively has exciting potential with an aggressive approach and quality bat speed consistently 70+ mph. Peak EV has been up to 101 mph and routinely gets into the upper 90s with flush contact. Strong, quick hands. Tall, upright stance creates leverage and gives the barrel an uphill path at contact. Defensively runs well underway with length in the strides and can cover ground quickly with his length. Short, compact arm action with high ¾ release. Crow hop into throws after funneling ball in from glove side.
‘25 OF Danny DiMarco (Ballard, WA)
Lean build with athletic trim at 6’0, 175 lbs. Checks several boxes across the board with a balanced skill set and consistent, steady improvement with physical tools. Offensively starts tall with a balanced set up and square direction towards pitcher. High hand placement into forward move then slots barrel lower to get on plane. Peak EV up to 95.1 mph. Middle of the field, gap to gap type power. In the OF, fluid mover with really solid footwork and loose hips. Stays behind the ball then comes through with momentum and intent. Side shuffle into throwing motion with a high, ¾ release and length out front. Up to 81 mph from the OF with accuracy and true ball flight.
‘25 INF Wilson Herrera (Cascade, OR)
Stout, powerful frame at 5’11, 180 lbs. Strong lower half. Confident defense. Plays low with quick tempo and aggressive pace through the baseball. Stays behind the play then comes thru with rhythm and a fluid exchange. Soft hands into higher ¾ throwing motion. Hip hinge to stay over the ball. Offensively looks to do damage at the plate and has the bat speed/strength combination to back up the intent. Taller, slightly open stance into high leg lift and forward stride. Quick trigger with the barrel. Can rotate suddenly and produce loud contact up to 99.2 mph EV. Lift to pull-side and mainly line drive contact throughout. Chance to be a reliable power bat.
‘25 OF Tre Hoffert (Central Catholic, OR)
Strong athlete with burst and explosive traits. 6.93 speed with exceptional short distance times. Gets up to full speed easily. Translates well to the OF with fluid, clean strides and body control when working through the ball or tracking it down. Offensively has made some quality adjustments to improve ball flight and produce more consistent line drives. Noticeable strength and speed in the hands as he moves the barrel. Keeps it simple with his forward move and uses a small weight shift and lower leg lift before landing. Rotates easily and likely has more power he can tap into as he continues to get reps this spring.
‘25 C Trevor Snow (Liberty, WA)
5’11, 180 with proportional build throughout frame. Put together a strong fall/winter campaign heading into the 2025 season and possesses quality traits to be a next level backstop. Defensively presents a low target and stays beneath the ball before framing/presenting the ball. Comfortable in both traditional and 1KD set up. Comes out of crouch easily into a high ¾ release. Offensively stays balanced and vertical early with a subtle forward move and tight separation into landing. Quick, direct bat speed into the zone with a flatter path through contact. Capable of spraying contact to all fields. Peak EV up to 94.7 on his best ball. Hitterish tendencies.
‘25 LHP Giancarlo Costanza (Skyview, WA)
Strong framed lefty at 6’1 who put on an exceptional performance at All-State heading into the 2025 spring season. Smooth, mechanically sound delivery with clean direction and balance throughout. Longer, full arm swing with loose finish out front. Keeps it simple and moves very efficiently through hips/core. Starter type effort with a balanced arsenal and feel for manipulating the zone.
FB 85.6 - 87 mph - Gets exceptional ride/carry into the zone
SL 71.3 - 73 mph - Sweeping shape at up to 2460 rpm
CH 77.8 - 79.5 mph - Kills spin & creates quality arm-side run/fade
CUT 77 - 80.3 mph - Lower spin rate than FB with late, hard darting action
