Top-10 Profiles of 2020: No. 8 Mitchell Voit
December 18, 2020
As the year starts to unwind, our staff will start to highlight the top-10 most viewed profiles from 2020 – starting at 10 and counting down.
Whitefish Bay’s Mitchell Voit has the eighth most viewed profile for Wisconsin in 2020. Voit has long been known as one of the top prospects in the state’s 2022 class, currently ranked No. 3 overall in Wisconsin and No. 158 nationally. A high-end athlete, Voit’s abilities on both sides of the ball are noticeable and there is some two-way potential harnessed within his craft.
His all-around workout at our South Milwaukee Preseason I.D. in March was one of the best we saw all day. He kicked his day off by running a 6.87 in the 60-yard dash, the fastest time from the event, and took a quality round of batting practice, showing off a smooth right-handed stroke while spraying the ball across the field. Voit’s best throw from his defensive workout topped at 95 mph across the diamond –which was also an event high. Voit then hopped on the mound, sitting 86-89 mph with his fastball and complemented it with a mid-70s curveball that flashed sharp action off an 11/5 plane.
Voit’s arrival at Ann Arbor would be a major get for the Wolverines. He’s one that we’re certainly eager to continue to cover as he enters the spring of his junior year.
