Draft League Spotlight: Brady Brecklin

Mike Rosenbaum
Senior Prospect Analyst

Player: Brady Brecklin
Position: SS

School: Illinois Central CC

While Brecklin’s above-average speed may be his best tool, the Illinois Central sophomore shortstop can do a little bit of everything on the diamond. A right-handed hitter, he controls the barrel well, showing a knack for making line-drive contact, as well as the potential to develop some more pop with physical maturation. Defensively, Brecklin is sound at shortstop, with hands and actions that could also profile at the hot corner. He hit .362 in 15 games during the shortened 2020 college season, then garnered MVP honors in the Peoria Sunday Morning League (.433 with circuit-best 26 hits).
