We get to see familier players and also many new ones that will be on our follow list throughout the year. We will be releasing an All-Tournament Team later this week.
Here will be begin to look at players that made an impact this past weekend. This will be our first piece of scout blog content with the Director's List to follow tomorrow. Be on the lookout for more content over the next few weeks.
Maddox Rogozinski, RHP/MIF, Brookwood, 2027
Uncommitted. 5-foot-11, 170-pounds. Interesting start as the fastball was dominant early, ran the heater up to 90, lived 89-85 with life in the zone that has serious arm-side run and carry. Collected whiffs with the heat as well as the off-speed. Flashed the curveball when ahead in the count, lacked confidence but gradually developed a better feel for it as the outing went on, sat 78-73 with a 12/6 arc that showed ability to manipulate at times and landing for called strikes. Introduced the CH a few times and saw good results, sitting 78-76 with arm-side tumble and cut at times that really left hitters guessing. Grinded from the start, battling a tough opposing line-up and kept hitters at bay for the most part. Gave up only weak contact through ground balls or fly balls. As the season continues it will be exciting to watch him continue to develop and mature on the mound. M2C.
Jackson Peavy, LHP, Peach County, 2025
University of Georgia commit. 6-foot-3, 178-pounds. More of the same from one of the top LHP in the state as he fastball was cooking early, running it up to 90 and sitting 89-87 throughout his outing while generating some life with zip and carry through the zone. Showed confidence and ability to land the curveball for called strikes and whiffs on demand, curveball sat 74-73 and had hitters out-front all day as he played both pitches off each other extremely well. Kept a deceptive release that had hitters confused. Gradually introduced the changeup a few times, primarily sitting 81-80 with a glove-side cut that seemed to really jam the righties in on the hands for weak pop-ups or slow-rolling ground balls. One of the more dominant outings from the weekend, pitching five innings allowing zero hits, zero runs, and collecting thirteen strikeouts. Needless to say, the three pitch sequences were working at a premium on Saturday. Going to be a fun player to watch as his career continues.
Parker Hope, C/3B, Allatoona, 2027
Uncommitted. 5-foot-10, 165-pounds. The hit tool was on display for the second week in a row at GDC as one of the high risers in the ‘27 class continues to hit the ball with authority. Another pair of multi-hit games that drove in runs, showing the power to all parts of the field, and also athletic behind the plate. His stance in the box is balanced and slightly bent at the knees with a slide-step or toe-tap load that focuses on the hands getting the barrel to the ball. Shows an advanced feel at the plate with low 90 and upper 80 exit velocities, blistering baseballs into gaps. Mature and disciplined eye as well, isn’t afraid to foul balls off in order to get a pitch he wants with two-strikes. Very patient and can attack at any moment. Exciting player to watch as the season continues. N2K.
Cooper Underwood, LHP, Allatoona, 2025
Georgia Tech commit. 6-foot-2, 170-pounds. An electric start from the highest ranked LHP in the state, he worked a four pitch mix with incredible ease and accuracy, showed great demand on everything and always followed a good pitch with a better pitch. Ran the fastball up to 92 and lived above 90 for the entirety of his outing; life in the zone, run with carry for S/M. Had a curveball that was 81-79 (2500 rpm) with a distinct 12/6 break, sharp, with the ability to land for called strikes and manipulate for whiffs. Flashes the slider occasionally, paired well coming off the curve and had hitters confused, 78-80 (2700 rpm) with a sweep break that lived low in the zone for S/M on both righties and lefties. The change-up was just as successful, living 85-86 that showed tumble and the ability to manipulate for outer-half called strikes. Deceptive pitching sequences that displayed confidence and a strong arm that can go the distance. He tossed five innings, allowing one hit, zero runs, and collecting eleven strikeouts. Definitely a fun player to watch as his career continues.
Carter Allen, RHP/OF, Bremen, 2027
Uncommitted. 6-foot-3, 175-pounds. Intriguing glance at ‘23 Junior Future Gamer as the right hander was dealing. Imposing frame for only being a sophomore, longer extremities that allow for him to get downhill fast and with ease and had hitters confused and guessing all night. Fastball ran up to 89 with authority and came out of the hand naturally with slight arm-side run and lift through the zone, lived 88-85 and was able to command his fastball at will on either side of the plate. Curveball was impressive as he already has a good feel to land and manipulate it, sat 71-70 with an arc-like shape with a 12/6 break, very interesting to a right hander. Most impressive part about his outing was his mature demeanor, he set up his pitches extremely well and paired high fastballs with a curve that looked like it might break, and then it never did, landing in the zone for a called strike. Kept hitters honest and generated weak ground-balls, collected ten strikeouts through four innings of work, surrendering zero runs or hits.
Brady Holbrook, OF, 2025, North Forsyth
Belmont commit. Holbrook very well could have just put together the best individual performance LakePoint has seen over the past calendar year. Starting Saturday off going 3-for-3 with 2 HR, 1B, a BB, and 4 RBIS. Then proceeding to follow up the monster game 1 performance with another electric showing in the nightcap. In their second game North Forsyth found themselves in a tie game in the bottom of the seventh with a chance to walk it off. Holbrook would answer the call and step up to the plate, delivering with a walk-off pull-side bomb for his third home-run on the day. Holbrook seemingly delivers hard contact every time he’s in the box whether seeing velocity or spin. Possessing premium bat speed with advanced barrel skills the physical, athletic 6-foot-1, 195-pound LHH generates a ton of strength from the ground up. Resulting in above-average raw power that consistently shows up in-game. Holbrook along with his formidable efforts at the plate helped lead the Raiders to an ultra-impressive sweep on the weekend. The senior will be a powering force as a stout bat at the top of the order, as well as being a top option on the mound throughout the rest of the spring for a Top 25 team in North Forsyth.
David Ojeda, OF, 2026, Flowery Branch
Uncommitted. The loud tools at the plate continue to show up time and time again for Ojeda. In the Falcons last game Ojeda stepped up to the plate in the middle innings with the bases juiced. Absolutely dismantling the first pitch he saw for a no-doubt pull-side grand-slam to break the game open. Taking an electric turn on the baseball with premier bat speed flashing in a swing that generates significant carry to the pull-side. Ultra-confident in the box with the ability to deliver an accurate barrel to find solid contact through the zone. Holds an impressive hit/power combo that paces a potent Flowery Branch lineup. As well as furnishing the OF defense with ability to cover ground backed by present arm strength. A real power threat from the left-side with gaudy tools to project on that could have an even bigger spring than last.
Alex Espinoza, IF, 2025, Grayson
Emmanuel commit. The Grayson infielder remains a consistent performer at the plate in every look we see him. While also doing a tremendous job of filling multiple roles for the Rams, whether that be providing a spark at the top of the order, lockdown defense, or contributing quality innings on the bump. As well as being a vocal leader for the club. Staying within his approach in the box, Espinoza seemingly produces a QAB every plate appearance and it showed up Friday night. Where he reached base three times going 2-for-2 with a BB/ 2 1B/ 2 RBI/ and 2 SB. Maintaining excellent balance while yielding tremendous length in-zone. Pitch recognition and the present feel to deliver an accurate barrel stand out. An easy mover through impact with fluidity through the zone, coupled with the ability to change plane results in Espinoza carrying a strong bat-to-ball profile. Espinoza also bears exceptional actions in the dirt with soft hands, lateral quickness, and above average arm strength across the diamond. In addition to being a versatile piece for the Grayson defense with the ability to move to any position in the infield and supply a strong defensive profile. The senior started his season off hot at Georgia Dugout Club Week 2, which helped lead Grayson to capture two key wins against high-caliber opponents.
Bryson Bizzell, OF, 2025, Norcross
Uncommitted. The lean, high-waisted 6-foot-3, 185-pound LHH was a spark plug for the Blue Devil lineup in their second game on Saturday. In his first at-bat in the leadoff spot, Bizzell turned around 91 and nearly sent it out, sending it off the right center-field wall at an exit-velocity of 93 for a loud triple. Then following it up with another single off the same arm. The senior holds an impressive presence in the box as he hunts for his pitch and looks to do damage early in the count. Shows an extremely quick trigger with fast hands through the zone and flashes present bat speed. As well as showing fluidity through the zone with the ability to change plane while creating leverage within the athletic frame. A field general in CF that made an outstanding diving catch in the game prior shows tremendous range that anchors the OF defense. When not in the OF Bizzell is the ace of the pitching staff. Doing it all for his squad, Bizzell started his season off hot at GDC and looks poised to have a massive senior campaign.
Eli Grantham, RHP, 2026, Wayne County
Uncommitted. It was an eye-opening performance from the physical 5-foot-11, 165-pound RHP who struck out 8 across 6.1 scoreless, nearly going the distance. Holding a bulldog mentality on the bump, Grantham works extremely fast and attacks with intent, while filling the zone up with ease. Showing utmost confidence in his fastball that missed barrels at 87-89 topping at 90 with heavy sink and run. Showed above-average command of the fastball with the ability to land to either side of the plate for swing-and-miss with more velo to project on. Changeup was a devastating offering to left-handed hitters with tumble that created swing-and-miss when painted down and away. Would periodically work in a curveball at 73-74 as well. Grantham could easily jump into the low 90s come May, all while flashing present pitchability within a potent three-pitch mix.
Joshua Tattershall, RHP/IF, 2025, Osborne
Uncommitted. In a day scattered with dominant pitching performances, Tattershall arguably had the best outing of all on Saturday, capping off the nightcap in electric fashion. It was clear to see that the right-hander was dialed in from the moment he toed the rubber. Striking out a staggering 17 K in a complete game shutout win all while walking 0. Commanding the zone with authority and landing strikes at a 76% clip, as well as throwing a first pitch strike 63% of the time. Tattershall displayed a compact arm action while exhibiting athletic movements down the mound. Working with a fastball/ curveball mix that tunneled well off one another to consistently keep hitters off balance. Fastball lived 87-88 and topped at 89 with late-life. Curveball showed a tight break that created late depth which was hard to pick up out of the hand. Tattershall is a physical athlete at 6-foot-0, 185-pounds that really looks the part on both sides of the ball while carrying loud tools. There is still plenty of projection remaining within the profile of the two-way uncommitted senior.
