Wisconsin prospects have continued to gain national recognition in recent years. Following last month’s rankings update, 10 players from the Badger State earned spots inside the national top 500. Today, we highlight the highest-ranked of the group: 1B/OF Dominic Santarelli.

An LSU commit, Santarelli sits atop the Wisconsin 2026 class, ranks No. 41 nationally, and is the nation’s top-ranked first baseman. Most recently, he put together a loud performance at the 2026 Max Clark Slugfest and will look to build on that momentum at the 2026 Super Sixty in the coming weeks.

Scouting Report

Louisville commit, currently ranked no. 1 in Wisconsin’s 2026 class. Coming in at 6-foot-1, 223-pound frame, Santarelli was all over the barrel in Saturday’s morning pool play game. The left-handed hitter possesses strength in his at bats making ball-to-bat contact, aggressive in the zone when up to bat. Santarelli put together multiple at-bats throughout the game with two singles early on and a hard hit between the gap for a triple later in the game to help the Hitters.

Louisville commit, currently the No. 1 player in the state. Physical and explosive 6-foot-1, 223-pound frame, sneaky athlete with twitch. Batted second and played first for the Lancers. The left-handed hitter swings a heavy and powerful barrel with real juice nearly leaving the yard and a ball to the left-center field gap. Advanced approach with a plan in the box, routinely takes quality at-bats. A natural hitter with bat-to-ball ability rarely comes up empty when he pulls the trigger in the box. One of the top bats in the Midwest with a growing reputation at the plate.

+ 1B/OF Dominic Santarelli (St. Joseph, 2026; Louisville commit) continues to elevate his prospect status each time we see him, and it was no different this past weekend. Already one of the top bats in the country for his class, Santarelli has added more impact and athleticism over the winter. Leading the event with a 6.74 run-time, improving from his previous 7.32 time. At the plate, the physical left-hander looks like a more explosive version of himself at 6-foot-1, 230-pounds. Bat-to-ball and quality of contact stand out for Santarelli, with the innate feel to leverage the ball in the air, the impact was evident throughout the round with an average exit velocity of 102.3 mph while topping out at 108.6 mph. Santarelli comes with a history of performing and made a statement this weekend, reaffirming his status as one of the top bats in the country.
