As we look back on the 2025 summer tournament circuit here in Kansas City, we’ll be breaking down the top players by tool from each class — based on evaluations from our scouting team at Homefield and Creekside. Follow along as we take a deep dive into these players and highlight the summers they put together. Each week will feature our top five players based on each tool from the class, presented in no particular order.

Top Power Tool Class of 2026

Jake Winger 3B / RHP / McCutcheon, IN / 2026

Jake Winger didn’t spend much time in Kansas City this summer, but he left a strong impression at the Midwest Premier Super 17. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound third baseman has yet to fully tap into his power potential. The Indiana commit shows simple, efficient movements at the plate and is still learning to use his long levers, but that hasn’t stopped him from driving balls well over the wall.

During his time in Kansas City, Winger launched two impressive home runs: the first a 99 mph line drive that cleared the wall, and the second a 104 mph, no-doubt, top-spin shot. He finished the summer with a 1.026 OPS, nine doubles, one triple, and six home runs for Top Tier. His long frame and impressive bat speed excite us as he heads to Indiana, where we believe his power could skyrocket as he continues to add strength.
