Follow along as we take a deep dive into these players and highlight the summers they put together. Each week will feature our top five players based on each tool from the class, presented in no particular order.

Top Power Tool Class of 2026

Beau Peterson 3B / RHP / Mill Valley, KS / 2026

Peterson is one of the best all-around hitters in the country, and his power potential is a major reason many believe he could be a Day One pick in the 2026 MLB Draft. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound third baseman possesses elite strength and uses it to his advantage, consistently producing 100 mph contact. This summer served as a true coming-out party for Peterson’s power, as he captured titles at the MLB All-Star High School Home Run Derby, Under Armour All-American Game Home Run Derby, and the Prep Baseball All-American Game Home Run Derby.

Peterson put on a show at the Prep Baseball All-American Game, posting an average exit velocity of 99.5 mph with a max of 107.8 mph. He also played a key role in helping Prime 27:17 National capture the Prep Baseball KC World Series title to close out the summer.
