2026 OUTLOOK

+ Westview enters the 2026 season riding historic momentum after a 29–8 campaign and the first State Tournament appearance in school history. Under head coach Scott Guymon, the Chargers return a high-octane, youth-driven core that played well beyond its years last spring, positioning this group as one of the more intriguing teams in Class 2A heading into the year.

Offensively, the returning production is loud. Thomas Myers emerged as one of the top underclass bats in the state, hitting an eye-opening .478 as a sophomore while also contributing on the mound. His ability to impact the game as a true two-way threat makes him a centerpiece of the lineup. CD Damron provides proven, all-around production after hitting .388 as a junior, racking up extra-base damage (8 doubles, 11 triples), driving in 32 runs, and swiping 28 bags. Damron’s blend of speed and gap power gives Westview a constant offensive spark.

The youth movement continues with a pair of freshmen standouts from a year ago. Graham Simpson burst onto the scene hitting .427 while handling duties behind the plate and showing the ability to contribute on the mound. Kohen McWerter adds physicality and polish at third base, hitting .355 as a freshman and giving the Chargers another two-way option with upside. Together, this group forms the backbone of a lineup that should continue to pressure opponents with both power and athleticism.

On the mound, Westview returns multiple arms with postseason experience. Myles McEwen provides veteran stability as a 2026 right-hander, while Myers and Simpson give the Chargers reliable innings from younger arms who have already proven they can perform on a big stage. The depth and flexibility of this staff will be key as Westview looks to navigate another challenging district schedule and extend its postseason success.

Impact underclassmen like Colin Haskins add another layer of depth, particularly behind the plate and in the middle infield, strengthening the Chargers’ long-term outlook.

With a historic season in the rearview and a roster loaded with returning production and high-ceiling underclassmen, Westview enters 2026 with confidence and momentum. If the Chargers continue to develop on the mound and maintain their offensive consistency, this group has the makeup to not only return to the state tournament but push even deeper in Class 2A.
