As we look back on the 2025 summer tournament circuit here in Kansas City, we’ll be breaking down the top players by tool from each class — based on evaluations from our scouting team at Homefield and Creekside. Follow along as we take a deep dive into these players and highlight the summers they put together. Each week will feature our top five players based on each tool from the class, presented in no particular order.

May quickly solidified himself as one of the best hitters we saw all summer, and his power is a big reason he’s a must-see at-bat. He consistently works quality plate appearances and is a home run threat on every pitch. Regardless of who he’s facing, when he’s locked in, his comfort and presence in the box are evident from pitch to pitch. The Kentucky commit has posted 102 mph exit velocities in showcase settings and showed even more in-game power this past year, driving balls in the 107–110 mph range.
We’re excited to see what Carson posts next month at the Super 60 Pro Showcase in McCook, Illinois, as he looks to put his full toolset on display for the 2026 MLB Draft.
