2026 High School Team Preview: North Cobb Christian

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the GHSA or GIAA state playoffs, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each GHSA classification and Power 25.

TEAM OUTLOOK

After back-to-back, deep but unsatisfying playoff runs, Coach Keane returns one of the most athletic lineups in 2A baseball with veteran depth on the mound to lead this Eagles team into May baseball once again. A trio of junior outfielders in Carson Bruce, Austin Tamborra, and JD Aufderheide are former Future Gamers and bring above-average power/speed combos that pace this offense with upside to take even bigger jumps this upcoming spring after all three posted at least .940 OPS as sophomores. Veteran leadership throughout the infield, starting with committed senior C Hudson Newell (Gardner-Webb), who brings a strong defensive background and has shown the clutch factor in big moments. A pair of uncommitted seniors in 3B Troy Mastrorgianakis and 2B Nico Arauz look for a chance to earn starting roles in the infield after standing out as part-timers last spring. Senior UTL Brody Brant is more veteran leadership in the lineup with ability to profile at multiple positions while holding the everyday DH in the lineup. The x-factor for the Eagles could be sophomore RHP/C Truitt Stafford whose two-way profile began to blossom last year, and could have SP1 potential with a consistent stick in the lineup as well. Another sophomore in SS/RHP Max Bowman could have an equally important role for this squad with an opportunity to earn an everyday role at SS due to high defensive makeup while offering value on the mound as well. Rotation will veteran experience and depth despite not having logged a ton of innings. Look for a trio of uncommitted seniors in Jose Garcia, Halen Bennett and Angel Delgado as well as junior Cooper Fitch to all play a role. A final-four heartbreak and elite eight exit in the last two years has prepared Coach Keane and this squad for the moment, and look for the Eagles to make noise in 2A this spring.
