Follow along as we take a deep dive into these players and highlight the summers they put together. Each week will feature our top five players based on each tool from the class, presented in no particular order.

Top Power Tool Class of 2026

Brooks Zumwalt C / Summit Christian, MO / 2026

Brooks is a player we didn’t see much over the past year as he spent the summer with Canes National, but we got an extended look this fall with Barrel Strawberry—and it didn’t take long for his power to stand out. At the Prep Baseball KC Fall World Series, Zumwalt went 5-for-10 with a double, a home run, and five RBIs.

Brooks has consistently shown big pop in showcase settings, including a 102.7 mph max exit velocity at the 2024 Futures Games for Team Missouri and a 101.2 mph max at the 2025 MOKAN Preseason ID. That power translated clearly in-game, highlighted by a mammoth home run that rivaled the longest balls we saw all year. Committed to Pitt, Zumwalt has the power potential to become a standout left-handed hitting catcher at the Division I level.
