Winter Showcase Standouts

Ian Evert 3B / RHP / Ernest W Seaholm High School, MI / 2027

Report: Utility player from Birmingham Seaholm, Evert has value across the diamond. Has made a conscious effort in the weight room and re-tooling his swing this offseason. Features clean actions from the hot corner and good bat speed, will look to anchor the middle of the order for Seaholm this spring.

Colin Bennett RHP / 1B / Novi, MI / 2027

Report: Coming off a good Super Sophomores appearance, Bennett is a name to know, brother of Brendon Bennett who is at Clemson. Already tooled with a good frame and strong lower half and a fastball with carry into the 90s, Bennett will be a force for Novi paired up with Uli Fernsler and the Wildcats as they look to get back to McLane Stadium and a final four appearance.

The Risers

Ethan Campbell LHP / 1B / Grand Haven, MI / 2027

Report: Another rising LHP out of west michigan featuring a ¾ slot with some arm side run to the fastball he’s been able to show into the upper 80s, mainly sitting 84-85. Campbell has made consistent gains each time our staff sees him and we expect him to have a solid spring campaign for the Bucs of Grand Haven.

Jaylen Johnson SS / RHP / Churchill High School, MI / 2027

Report: Johnson showed out at the Eastern MI PAS event in February with improved body and frame added muscle to his strong frame. Improved swing from the offseason set him apart from the event. Consistent barrels in his BP round and solid running with that, Johnson looks to take his game to another level this spring for Churchill.

Must See Guys This Spring

Taber Edwards-Benner SS / RHP / Midland, MI / 2027

Report: Edwards-Benner is looking to make another jump this spring for the Chemics of Midland after earning an everyday role as a freshman. The 13th ranked player in the 2027 class will see a good amount of innings on the left side of the infield and also log some key innings for Midland. Look for the sophomore to make another jump offensively as well.

Carter Harcek RHP / OF / Midland Dow High School, MI / 2027

Report: A rising sophomore on the mound, will look to play a key part for a young and talented Midland Dow squad this spring. His impact will be felt on the mound with a fastball sitting in the upper 80s and 2/7 shaped breaking ball. A name to keep tabs on this spring in the Saginaw Valley League.

Dominic Bonnetti SS / RHP / Richmond, MI / 2027

Report: Top 5 player out of Richmond has seen a gain in muscle added to his wiry and athletic frame from offseason. Bonnetti had an impressive BP round at ProCase with numerous line drives and a clean swing path. Bonnetti, already a year under his belt at the varsity level, will look to make another jump for the Blue Devils this spring, certainly a player schools will want to see this spring - heading into the summer.
