With 2024 now in the past, Prep Baseball Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage that can be found anywhere in 2025. 2025 Spring Team Preview: Toledo Central Catholic Fighting Irish

Team Name: Toledo Central Catholic Fighting Irish
Head Coach: Jeff Mielcarek
Division: III
2024 Record: 8-17
2024 Tourney Finish: Sectional Semifinals loss to Bowling Green
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 5/3

Coach Outlook: "We struggled together last year with the inability to win close games and then played poorly for 3 innings to begin our tournament game. Hopefully all of that will force all of us to focus on the little things needed to win games on our schedule."

2025 Team Strengths:

  • Athletic

Top Returning Players:

  • Preston Fryzel / RHP/1B / 2026 / R/R. Last year was selected 2nd Team All Ohio. Hit .373. 34 IP / 2.68 ERA. Currently has 24 DI football offers so will be juggling baseball and college football recruiting
  • Dre Wardrop / SS / 2026 / R/R. Hit .365 with 20 stolen bases. Solid defensive player and excellent athlete

  • Beau Gardner - RHP/Utility (both infield and outfield)
  • Josh Rahe - 3B/1B
  • Dalton McIlhargey - RHP/2B
