Kentucky landed a big recruit this week with the No. 1 prospect in the 2017 Overall Rankings picking the Wildcats. LHP Brandon Garland (Unicoi County HS, TN) has a loose, quick arm that produces a fastball at 87-90 mph, touching 91. He missed most of the spring season with an ankle injury, but kicked off the summer season with an appearance at the Tennessee Top Prospect Games in June. He showed a 78-79 slider and solid changeup at 77-82 there in two innings of work.
