Top Performer Spotlight: 2020 1B Will MacFarlane (Fairport HS)
July 23, 2019
Since June 7th, our boot-on-the-ground scouting team have seen 500+ players at showcase events, including the 2019 NYS Games. Already, 100's of players have caught the eyes of our professional scouting staff, all with dreams of playing baseball at the next-level. Over the remainder of the summer I (Dan Cevette) will be highlighting "Top Performer Spotlights" on players who really stood-out and offering my "Quick-Hit" thoughts on the players.

CEVETTE's QUICk HIT
CEVETTE'S QUICK HIT: MacFarlane has now been to three PBR NY events and continues to impress each time we see him. His latest event, the 2019 NYS Games, MacFarlane posted his best measurable numbers to date, lead by his impressive 6.70 laser 60-yard dash time. In the box his hands are loose, slightly crouched stance with a smooth back load for timing. Hands go direct to the ball, barrel stays mostly level with some slight lift after contact, creating a line-drive approach with bat-speed in the mid 80's. Moves exceptionally well around the 1B bag, likely a move to the OF at the next-level where he can utilize his athleticism. The arm needs more strength, and the frame can easily handle more weight. Player from the greater Rochester area to keep close eyes on.
