2026 High School Team Preview: Fullington Academy Trojans

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the GHSA or GIAA state playoffs, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each GHSA classification and Power 25.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each GHSA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TOP UNDERCLASSMEN

Fullington Academy looks to bounce back this season as the Trojans bring in an influx of talented underclassmen who saw a limited amount of varsity time as 8th graders. It begins with freshman MIF/RHP Eli Ashley who starts both ways for the Trojans football team as he boasts athleticism throughout on the diamond. Ashley holds down the SP1 spot and will be relied upon as a key top-of-the-order bat. Sophomore SS/RHP Brantley Ross and freshman C/RHP Cash Green obtained some two-way varsity playing time last season and will be tasked to carry bigger roles throughout the rotation and lineup. Sophomore two-way 3B/RHP Tucker Sorrow rounds out the rotation and provides an on-base threat out of the lead-off spot. Sophomore OF Clay Sangster gained invaluable experience as a freshman last year and strengthens the lineup. Upperclassmen 1B JW Floyd brings senior leadership to the club and looks to provide some consistency out of the corner infield spot. Two more freshmen in OF Fletcher Faircloth and OF Fisher Neal hold down spots in the outfield and strive to make an instant impact from day 1. The Trojans may lack some experience at the varsity level but have chemistry amongst each other that could push them over the hump of adversity that will be faced during the season.
