Avery Fouts
Associate Scout

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the GHSA or GIAA state playoffs, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each GHSA classification and Power 25.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each GHSA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

*Please note the information has been gathered from head coaches across the state, based on their replies to the questionnaire we distributed over this offseason.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The Cavaliers broke the school single season win record with 11 wins and made a postseason appearance last season. They will look to carry that momentum over into ‘26 and top their efforts from a year ago backed by a strong upperclass group. 2026 IF/RHP Scott Williams is coming off all region honors a year ago and set the tone for the Cavaliers in ‘25. Williams provides an important middle-of-the-order stick as he batted for a .455 average along with an OBP of .613 and anchors the infield defense. The uncommitted senior will also offer value on the mound as well. More all-region production comes from 2026 RHP/OF Dakota Dunn who brings invaluable experience to the rotation as he led the club in innings thrown by a wide margin a season ago. The uncommitted senior yields a key piece in the lineup as well as he batted for a .309 average last year. The x-factor for Coach Booker and the Cavaliers could be all region 2027 C/RHP Parker Hollimon. The junior offers SP1 upside as he pitched to the tune of a .43 ERA in 5 appearances last season. Hollimon poses as a major on-base threat and run producer in the heart of the order as he batted for a .455 average along with a .613 OBP, and led the team in RBI’s with 28 in just over 50 plate appearances. A pair of experienced upperclassmen in 2027 IF/RHP Shae Joniec and 2026 OF/P Viraj Bulla both look to play a role both in the rotation and the lineup. Fellow uncommitted seniors in 2026 IF Peyton Prouty and 2026 IF/OF Ayden Payne equip the offense with significant veteran experience and strengthen the depth of the lineup. The Cavaliers got a taste of the playoffs last season and Coach Booker returns an experienced core that is prepared to surpass their mark from a year ago.
