2026 AAA Team Preview: Trumann Wildcats

The Arkansas high school baseball season kicks off on Mar. 2, opening day for regular season action under AAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2026 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Arkansas Preseason Power 25 Rankings.
Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

- Braydon Passmore (2026) - P/CF, 6'3, 178, R/R
- ASU Mountain Home commit
- Up to 87 on the mound with a solid 4 pitch mix while striking out 47 hitters last season. Also proved he can be one of the top guys in our conference at the plate hitting .404 with 10+ RBI's and stealing 12 bases.
- Drake Harlow (2027) - P/LF, 6'2 195, L/R
- 3 sport athlete, Strong Lefty hitter with confidence every time he steps on to the field. 2x All-Conference Player and looks to show some power both at the plate and on the mound this season.
- Isaiah Carrillo (2026) - P/3B, 5'9 185, R/R
- Everyday starter at 3B last season and hit his way up to the lead off spot last season after starting the season towards the bottom. Finished the season with a .375 avg and is looking forward to making the most of his senior season.
- Peyton Chaffin (2028) - RHP, 6'2 220
- Earned 4 wins on the mound as a freshman, finished the season with a 1.11 ERA with 30 K's in 8 appearances. Has added some velo since last season and is looking to fine tune mechanics to get ready for his sophomore year.

- RJ Mabe (2029) - C/P, 6'0 155, R/R
- Has the ability to get some innings both behind the plate and on the rubber. Has a good frame for a freshman and loves the grind of the game of baseball.
- Cash Thompson (2029) - P/UTL, 5'6 134, R/R
- Freshman with a high baseball IQ and never lets the lights get too bright. Very complete athlete with quick hands in the infield and puts together good AB's at the plate. Could see playing time anywhere on the field, and has confidence in every play that comes his way.
Coach’s Insight: “This team has experience at every position on the field. When they get on base they can really put pressure on defenses with our speed that helped us steal over 100+ bases last season. [Our weakness is] offensive production in key situations” – Trey Gossett, head coach
