Uncommitted Spotlight: '26 Austin Smith

Prep Baseball Utah

With the spring season quickly approaching, our focus remains on uncommitted prospects in the Classes of 2026 and 2027. As these athletes enter their final years of high school, many talented upperclassmen remain available, some overlooked and others quietly flying under the radar, each searching for the right opportunity to compete at the next level.

In our Uncommitted Spotlight series, we will continue highlighting these prospects across our site and social media channels. Be sure to visit the Uncommitted Spotlight page under the ‘Players’ tab on the homepage to catch up on previous features as we move through the winter and preseason.”

Next up in the Uncommitted Spotlight series is 2026 catcher Austin Smith, the No. 1 ranked uncommitted catcher in Utah, a player who has made steady, noticeable progress throughout his high school career and has developed into an All-State–caliber talent. He’s a name to know heading into the spring for Crimson Cliffs, where he’s expected to be a major piece both behind the plate and in the middle of the lineup, impacting the game on both sides of the ball. With nearly a year since his last set of recorded metrics, Smith’s upward trend in those numbers has almost certainly continued, and he’s shaping up to be a true difference-maker for the Mustangs this season. Below will highlight Smith's stats, videos, and more.
