Week of 9/29/25

Vince Filis SS / 2B / Princeton Day, NJ / 2028

The 2028 graduate cannot commit to a school yet, but the New Jersey ball player deserved the spotlight with his consistent development and impressive defensive display. One of NJ’s premiere middle infield defenders, Filis has uber quick footwork and a large radius where he can make plays. Offensively he can drive the ball all-across the field and shows some pop to the pull side. A top of the order bat.

Anthony Scaglione RHP / 1B / Red Bank Catholic, NJ / 2027

The 6 ‘1 and 195-pound right-handed pitcher had an impressive performance at the Metro Scout Day. The RHP attacks the strike with a four-pitch arsenal that allows him to work late into games. His fastball was 87-90 mph, his slider had sharp break at 75-77 mph, a bigger breaking ball for early count strikes at 70-71, and a low spin changeup at 77-78 mph. After Scaglione’s performance, he looks the part of one of NJ’s premiere 2027 arm talents.

Joey DiMeo SS / 3B / Toms River East, NJ / 2027

The ninth overall player in New Jersey’s 2027 class had himself a nice showing at the Metro Scout Day. His smooth glove work and strong arm, 87 mph, set him apart from the other 2027 shortstops. In batting practice, DiMeo displayed quick bat speed and a flat bat path that drove the ball to the pull side with authority. Impressive ball player that continues to improve and impress.

Cam McCormack V 1B / RHP / Haverford, PA / 2027

McCormack tore up the summer circuit and has continued to impress into the fall-ball season. The physical first-baseman from Eastern Pennsylvania put on a laser show during batting practice. He displayed his pull-side power with consistent balls off the right-center field wall in a big ballpark. With McCormack’s advanced hitting mechanics and his advanced strength for his age, he has all the makings to continue to be one of the Northeast’s premiere power bats.

Matthew Muzikant 3B / RHP / Long Island Lutheran Middle & High School, NY / 2026

Projectable 6-1, 172 lb build. long, whippy arm with a lively FB and a sharp breaker.
