JT's UNCOMMITTED SHOWCASE STANDOUTS - CLASS OF 2026

Highlighting 5 more of the top uncommitted 2026 prospects that shined in front of the Prep Baseball KY staff on the 2025 showcase circuit!

Banks Heinrich RHP / 3B / Sayre School, KY / 2026

Coming in as the No. 58 overall prospect and No. 17 RHP in Kentucky’s 2026 class, Heinrich is an uncommitted arm who has continued to trend upward over the past year. The 6'2", 189 lb righty has been seen recently up to 88 mph multiple times and carries an athletic frame that projects well. The Prep Baseball KY staff kept a close eye on Heinrich this year — from February’s Preseason All-State event, to watching him earn the win for Sayre on opening night of our inaugural High School Invitational, and on through a strong performance at the Eastern KY Top Prospect Games. Each outing has shown progress, highlighted by feel for a changeup and a breaking ball that continues to take shape. Heinrich is poised to lead Sayre’s staff this spring in the always-tough 11th Region as the Spartans look to return to the State Tournament.

Rylan Simpson SS / OF / Leslie County High School, KY / 2026

Simpson, ranked No. 72 overall and the No. 14 shortstop in the class of 2026, put himself firmly on the map with a big summer performance. The 6'0", 167 lb SS/OF carries a physical frame with more to come and produces violent swings that translate to impressive metrics. He posted an exit velocity north of 105 mph while running a sub-7 second 60-yard dash, a combination of power and athleticism that stood out at the 2025 State Games. In Leslie County, Simpson's in-game production has been just as loud. Over the past two seasons, he has compiled 40 extra-base hits and 67 stolen bases while striking out only 22 times in 216 at-bats — video-game-like numbers that highlight his offensive consistency. With his tools and production, Simpson has emerged as one of the bigger winners from the 2025 showcase circuit and a key uncommitted bat to follow this spring.

Ryan Disponett RHP / 2B / Lexington Christian Academy, KY / 2026

Up next is an intriguing high-spin righty in Ryan Disponett, ranked No. 83 overall and the No. 27 RHP in class. The 6'1", 180 lb two-way works from a high three-quarter slot and shows the type of delivery that points to more velocity gains ahead, making him a projectable arm with a smooth operation down the mound. He flashes feel for spin with a slider that carries mid-2500 rpm metrics, giving him a great secondary look. The changeup shows promise as well, with depth and fade backed by over 17 inches of movement. With his frame, easy actions, and developing arsenal, Disponett is a name to follow as he continues to add polish and strength heading into his senior spring at Lexington Christian Academy.

Turner Sparks RHP / Henry Clay High School, KY / 2026

Up next is Henry Clay High School's Turner Sparks, ranked No. 39 overall and the No. 13 right-handed pitcher in the 2026 class. Approaching what could be an electric senior year on the mound for the Blue Devils, Sparks is one of the Prep Baseball Kentucky staff’s favorite uncommitted arms still on the board. The 6’0”, 190 lb righty has seen his stock climb as a helium riser after a strong summer, highlighted by breaking the 90 mph mark on the FB at the National Program Invitational in June with more in the tank. He mixes in two distinct breaking balls with feel and already shows a changeup that projects as a future plus-plus pitch. With his physicality and competitive edge on the mound, Sparks is poised for another jump as he continues to focus more heavily on pitching.

Grant Vinyard RHP / McCracken County High School, KY / 2026

Rounding out today's batch of seniors is RHP Grant Vinyard, ranked No. 61 overall and the No. 20 righty in KY's 2026 class. Vinyard first showed in front of the KY staff late this summer, standing out as a big winner at the 2025 State Games. The lean 6’0”, 185 lb righty works from a three-quarter slot and showed both an uptick in velocity and the ability to miss bats with his offspeed offerings. He’s at his best when living low in the zone, where the fastball shows late sink and pairs effectively with a sweeping slider that averages over 16 inches of horizontal movement. If Vinyard continues to refine his command, he has the stuff to log meaningful innings on a talented McCracken County staff this spring.
