Tristan has intrigued scouts with his ultra-athletic, 6-foot-3 frame and power arm dating back to his high school years, but he struggled to translate all that natural ability to results in two seasons at Santa Clara before undergoing Tommy John surgery in March 2020. Before getting hurt, Tristan had flashed a fastball up to 97 mph.
