Norcal Player of the Week: Eddie Curley

2020 LHP Eddie Curley of Clayton Valley Charter has been named the Prep Baseball Report Northern California Player of the Week for March 18th - March 24th for his incredible outing on 3/21/19 vs Benicia HS.

In a game that CV eventually won 1-0 in 10 innings, Curly posted this eye-popping line: 9.1 IP, 2 H, BB, 13 K... Yes, that says 9.1 IP. On the road, Curley stood extremely tall for the Ugly Eagles as they battled Benicia in Diablo Athletic League action. It is all the more impressive when considering just a single run allowed by Curley in the bottom of the 7th-9th innings would have been a win for Benicia.

He was eventually removed in the bottom of the 10th, replaced by senior Luke Mingham, who recorded the final two outs and ended the marathon game. Curley faced 29 batters in all, with only three of them reaching base safely, while throwing 111 pitches (73 strikes). For the season the junior left-hander is now 3-0, 0.89 ERA, 24.1 IP, 36 K, 9 BB and for good measure is hitting .333 when serving as 1st baseman and DH.

For his efforts, Curley has been named the Prep Baseball Report Northern California Player of the Week for March 18th-24th.
