Arizona Top Prospect Games: Quick Hits (2027's)

Phoenix, AZ – On Tuesday, June 10, the Prep Baseball Arizona staff hosted the second Top Prospect event of the summer, featuring 35 of the top uncommitted players from the 2027 class. Held at American Family Fields of Phoenix, the invite-only event included a full pro-style workout with a laser-timed 60 yard dash using VALD Performance, defensive evaluations, and batting practice tracked by TrackMan. Following the workout, pitchers were evaluated during live gameplay with TrackMan capturing all pitch data and metrics.
Below, we highlight several 2027 players who stood out to the Prep Baseball Arizona staff with their performances in this edition of Quick Hits.

Hallberg put together one of the louder BP rounds at the Arizona Top Prospect Games, showing consistent barrel accuracy and advanced bat speed. He creates explosive rotation with a flat, powerful path that produced a 104 mph exit velocity and 383-foot max distance. Pull-side backspin and aggressive intent stood out. |

Moo impressed with a physical left-handed swing and strong feel for the barrel, driving the ball gap to gap with authority. He consistently created backspin and posted a 101 mph exit velocity with a 372-foot max distance. Advanced use of his lower half and efficient rhythm highlight his offensive ceiling. |

Dodd turned in one of the better all-around performances with a balanced swing from both sides of the dish and athletic actions throughout his game. He consistently drove balls to all fields and reached a 345-foot max distance. Plus runner (6.65 60) with arm strength (86 mph OF velo) that adds to his two-way intrigue. High IQ player. |

Derek Wilson OF / LHP / Red Mountain , AZ / 2027Rankings StateRank: 58 / POS: 12
Wilson impressed with switch-hit ability and mature at-bats from both sides, consistently finding barrels with a line-drive approach. He reached a 93 mph exit velocity and showed arm strength with a 91 mph throw from the outfield. His compact build and quick actions give him two-way potential moving forward. |

Bolen showcased some of the event’s top raw power, posting a 102 mph exit velocity and 385-foot max distance with true backspin to all fields. Behind the plate, he flashed catch-and-throw ability with 1.89–2.22 pop times and a projectable arm. His extra-large frame and two-way upside make him an intriguing long-term follow. |

Colin Murphy OF / RHP / Cactus Shadows, AZ / 2027Murphy showed strong two-way upside with a 97 mph exit velocity and a right-center approach that played in BP. His athletic build and clean movement patterns give him projection both at the plate and on the mound. On the hill, he attacked with a flat fastball from a high ¾ slot and showed the ability to pitch up in the zone effectively. |

Kelson Hogan RHP / OF / Corona del Sol, AZ / 2027Hogan showed well as a true two-way prospect, driving balls gap to gap with a 97 mph exit velocity and 350-foot max distance. He even hit a HR during the gameplay portion off of one of the top arms of the day. On the mound, he flashed a short, repeatable arm stroke with feel for a sweeping slider and a clean over-the-top delivery. His athletic build and balanced skill set give him a strong foundation for continued development. |
