2025 OSSAA Team Preview: Cashion Wildcats
February 20, 2025
The Oklahoma high school baseball season kicks off on Feb. 24 for classes A and B and Mar. 1 for classes 2A-6A, opening day for regular season action under OSSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Oklahoma Preseason Power 25 Rankings.
Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.
Our 2025 preseason coverage continues today.

Top Returners:
Brody Nichols (2026, MIF, 5'10, 160, R/R) 48 K, 9 BB, ERA 0.5 last year. Was our #2 starting pitcher last year. With him on the mound I feel like we are capable of beating anyone we play in 2A.

Maxx Higdon (2025) CF 6'3 180 L/R 4 year starter with a lot of upside at the plate. 4 bombs last year.
Kyle Yowell (2026) Utility 6'0 145 R/R Middle of the lineup kid that can play anywhere.
Top Newcomers:
Zach Sisson (2025) OF,R/R A lot of upside at the plate, injured for the whole year last year.
Aidan Berry (2026) 3B, R/R Lot of upside at the plate. Competitor.
Ryder Lykins (2026) 1B/P Move in from Okarche, Lot of upside at the plate.
Key Players Lost:
Cooper Frazee (Redlands CC)
Hunter Gibson (Seminole St)
Chance Acord (Cowley CC)
Coach’s Insight: “Very athletic and strong throughout the lineup. Also have a lot of depth in the field and at the plate. Pithcing is a big question mark, but I think we have the competitors to overcome it. We have less power arms than we did last year. Bringing back less than 60 innings.” – Blake Mounce, head coach
