2026 Rankings Stories:
Top 100 Rankings Story
+ Milan Larew - RHP - Mills Godwin HS - Ferrum
While Larew certainly made some gains in the velo department this fall, getting up to 91 mph in mid-September, it was more the consistency of his outings and his ability to navigate deeper into games that gave him a slight bump up in this update. The Ferrum commit has showed the arm strength in the past, but has struggled in the zone at times, as well as getting deeper into outings. If the trend up in pitchability continues, it will allow the stuff to play even better than it has in the past. Larew could be a huge piece of the puzzle that is replacing Luke Smyers this spring for Mills Godwin.
+ Caleb Whitehead - 1B - Glen Allen HS - Lincoln (PA)
Whitehead is a riser and a highlighted name in this updated rankings release. In addition to his ability around the bag at first base, Whitehead has added some in game power production to what he brings to the table. Strong 6-foot-1, 210-pound frame with above average bat speed and raw power at the plate. There has long been that underlying thought of future power for Whitehead, but this summer and fall he started to showcase that on a more frequent basis. Slightly open stance, toe tap to stride, excellent posture and extension through contact, and can get to the power from the middle to pull. The Glen Allen first baseman is a recent commit of Lincoln University (PA).
+ Naomi Ryan - 1B/LHP - Miller School
Arguably the best defensive first baseman in the state. She can absolutely defend around the bag and is a huge security blanket for infielders. Work ethic, attention to detail, and competitiveness are three things that seem to lay the groundwork for what Ryan brings to the field. There are solid bat to ball skills at the plate, while it is more of a contact/line drive type of offensive profile. On the mound Ryan is a strike thrower, mixes pitches well, and competes in the zone. Pitchability profile that while there is not elite "stuff", like at the plate, there is big time compete and composure on the mound. One of the faces of USA Women's Baseball, Ryan has the ability and baseball savvy to bring a winning culture and mindset to any roster.
