MPB Fall Classic Quick Hits 9/20
September 21, 2025
The MPB Fall Classic picked back up early Saturday morning with the final day of pool play before seeding for Championship Sunday. Here are the top performers from September 20th.
+ CF/SS/RHP Cooper Vais (Arvada West HS, CO, 2027) got off to a hot start at the MPB Fall Classic with a two-run homer. The 2025 Future Gamer is an exciting two-way prospect whose athleticism jumps off the charts. A 6.5 runner with a 91 mph fastball and a max exit velocity of 106.5 mph, he is one of the toolsiest players we’ve seen this fall.

+ RHP/C Brayden Reiner (Arvada West, CO, 2026) dominated his outing yesterday morning, featuring an 83–86 mph fastball with ride and a short slider that tunneled well off the heater up in the zone. The 6-foot-1, 178-pound righty has plenty of room to add strength and velocity, but the carry already plays well in the high-80s.

+ LHP Jack Peterson (Millard West, NE, 2028) was outstanding on the mound yesterday, turning in one of the most dominant performances we’ve seen this fall. He tossed five no-hit innings with three walks and 12 strikeouts. The 5-foot-10 lefty is crafty and deceptive, relying on location and pitchability, with plenty of room to add strength as his body continues to mature.

+ SS/2B Anthony Misch (Lutheran, CO, 2026) had himself a day, racking up four hits across two games, including a double, a triple, and three RBIs out of the two-hole. Misch features a tall setup with low, loose hands, a slow hover, and a quick, flat release. At 6-foot, 160 pounds, the infielder has plenty of room to add size and strength as he continues to develop.

+ OF/1B Cal Heydon (Coon Rapids-Bayard, IA, 2026) is one of the top uncommitted ’26 players we’ve seen this fall. At 6-foot-4 with 6.7 speed, he’s an extremely valuable asset on both sides of the ball. In game one yesterday, he put together a strong performance at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a walk and a home run to straightaway center.

+ 3B/RHP Jack Cosgrove (Creighton Prep, NE, 2026) put on a show in game two yesterday, going 2-for-3 with two home runs and five RBIs. The lanky 6-foot-4 corner infielder uses his length to generate whip, and with plenty of room to add strength, there’s even more power potential to come.

+ RHP/SS Braden Wallace (Roland-Story, IA, 2027) turned in a quality start for 3T’s, going five innings with eight strikeouts while allowing just two hits and no runs. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound righty works from a three-quarter arm slot, sitting 82–84 mph and touching 85. His fastball showed arm-side run and paired well with a sweeping slider that spun over 2200 RPM.

+ OF/RHP Carter Taldo (Olathe West, KS, 2027) had a strong day at the plate for the KC Naturals, collecting two hits in both games, including a home run and a double. The 2025 Future Gamer is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound athlete just scratching the surface of his potential. With plenty of room to add strength, he’s a must-follow heading into his junior year.
