This Sunday, October 12th, the Prep Baseball California team is hosting the SoCal Uncommitted Games at Cypress College in Cypress, Cal. This event is an invite-only event for high school classes (2026-2027), and gives our staff an ample look at the area's top prospects.

Hudson December RHP / C / El Camino Real Charter High, CA / 2027

From 7/8/25:

Positional Profile: RHP/C
Body: 6-0, 165-pounds. Long, lengthy athletic frame with noticeable athleticism.
Delivery: Long, windup from the stretch. High leg kick. Coils into back leg generating strong hip-shoulder separation.
Arm Action: RH. 3/4 release. Full circle arm path. Long, whip-like release. Loose arm action.
FB: T89, 87-89 mph. Firm, keeps FB high. T2161, 1957 average rpm.
CB: 73-75 mph. Slurve-like movement. T2177, 2087 average rpm.
SL: 74-76 mph. Sharp, late break. Low 3/4 arm slot for pitch. T2357, 2221 average rpm.
CH: 79-81 mph. Shows late dive. T1689, 1550 average rpm.

Jake Torres C / St John Bosco, CA / 2026

From 7/30/25:

Positional Profile: C Catcher with valuable traits behind the dish and great feel in the box.
Body: 5-8, 203-pounds. Broad, strong frame.
Hit: RHH. Balanced, even stance. Back elbow pointed outward towards catcher. Bat rests on rear shoulder. High leg kick stride. Weight shifts towards back leg during load. Hands stay above rear shoulder. Rotates well and quickly with hips. Generates great bat lag. 63.6 mph bat speed with 15 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 96 max exit velocity, averaged 83.4 mph. 351' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-70 mph. 3/4 arm slot. Short, whip-like release. Gets ball out in a hurry. Accurate thrower with consistent line drive trajectory.
Defense: 2.00-2.19 pop times. Strong base in stance. Pops up quickly into throwing position. Follows through fully after throw.
ATH: 7.91 runner in the 60. 1.81 and 4.29 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. 15.90 max vertical.

Desi Whelan OF / 2B / Wilson High, CA / 2027

From 5/31/25:

Positional Profile: OF/3B Compact athlete with a gap-to-gap swing and sound OF actions.
Body: 5-8, 160-pounds. Athletic, possessing strength throughout.
Hit: LHH. Slightly closed setup. Heavy hand and backside load with toe tap trigger, explosive. Easy swing that creates seperation, flat bat path through the zone. 69.7 mph bat speed with 27 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 94 max exit velocity, averaged 81.8 mph. 336' max distance.
Arm: RH. OF-73 mph. Hand to ear, high 3/4 slot, minimal follow through.
Defense: Athletic, shuffles into throw, throws in-line.
ATH: 7.09 runner in the 60. 1.71 and 3.91 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.

Jaxon Olmstead C / 3B / Huntington Beach , CA / 2027

From 1/6/24:

Positional Profile: C/3B
Body: 6-0, 165-pounds. wiry lean frame
Hit: LHH. open tall stance with high back elbow. hands set just above rear shoulder with a flat bat and waggle in the hands. shifts weight back with a bigger stride. hands load deep. shows feel for landing on time at launch. shows a good turn of the hips while keeping his hands back. swing path shows lift when on time. 65.6 mph bat speed with 14 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 81 max exit velocity, averaged 74.4 mph. 292' max distance. hands show strength at contact with lift in the bat path. shows a feel to get to the barrel through the ball.
Arm: RH. C-70 mph. INF-73 mph. transfer is quick with a longer arm stroke but solid arm speed. flashes accuracy to the base.
Defense: 2.20-2.40 pop times. feet work at 3B with good feel for glove angle and lateral range. arm plays well with carry and accuracy.
ATH: 8.15 runner in the 60. shows body control in running actions.

Because of the high number of prospects set to attend Sunday's event, it is imperative that you read our showcase itinerary below, which will allow our staff to swiftly and efficiently educate and evaluate the players set to attend.

Check-In Times:

Position Players: 8:15-8:45 am
Position Player Workout: 9:00 am
Pitcher Only: 1 hour before your team's scheduled game time
Team 1 & 2 Pitcher Onlys: 11:00 am
Team 3 & 4 Pitcher Onlys: 1:30 pm

Game Time

Game 1: Team 1 vs. Team 2 at 12:00 pm
Game 2: Team 3 vs. Team 4 at 2:30 pm
