We recently published our early spring edition of the Spring Mock Draft as well as the latest Draft HQ Top-200 overall rankings. We're breaking down the rest of the players who warrant draft consideration into separate groups, since this is more representative of how pro organizations conduct their business during the draft itself.

Here's our take on the top college prospects at each of the following positions: shortstop, catcher, outfield, corner infield/utility, right-handed pitcher, left-handed pitcher. TOp college Prospects, By Position

SHORTSTOP

"The top three in this group have the potential play for a long, long time at the Major League level."

SECOND BASE

"Hacopian is a likley top-10 overall pick and some believe he's the best combination of hit ability and power in the entire draft."

Third Base

"A deep class at the hot corner, Reese is the unquestioned leader of the group. He's always hit and continues to improve defensively, so much so that he's now likely to remain in spot at the next level."

First base

"After a position change from the hot corner, Grahovac is the best of the group with elite (72.6 mph) bat speed and 70-grade raw power. However, a season-ending loss to the sophomore-eligible Bailey diminishes this class of college first base prospects."

CATCHER

"The deepest position in all of college baseball, it's led by Lackey who will likely go in the top-three overall picks and it would not surprise if he was selected 1-1. Helfrick, Jackson and Brock are all high-level athletes who ooze tools and have performed."

outfield

"Strong at the top with Strosnider, Gracia, Burress and Sorrell, the group has been bolstered by the emergence of Robbins in the SEC, while Gasparino has been the comeback prospect story of the season to date."

right-handed pitcher

"A continually developing group that now looks to be a strength in 2026. Flora and Peterson have both touched 100 mph while Townsend's rise has been particulary fascinating, with comparisons to Gage Wood's ascent last season."

LEFT-handed pitcher

"A weakness entering the season, southpaws have stepped it up this spring. Mendes, Edwards and Carlon have all looked brilliant, while Dietz and Johnson bring power fastballs and at least one above-average secondary."
