Uncommitted Spotlight: Jonathan Walters

Our second uncommitted senior spotlight of the day is Seckman OF/2B Jonathan Walters, the 134th overall prospect in Missouri’s 2021 class.
We last got an up-close look at Walters back in January when he attended our STL Force Scout Day event. There, the 5-foot-10, 170-pound left-handed hitting Walters showed well, working both on the dirt and in the outfield.

Scouting Report
Walters is a strong 5-foot-10 170-pound left-handed hitting outfielder and second baseman in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 4.26 home to first and had a 92 mph exit velocity. At the plate, tall and open set up, lands slightly closed at times, short the ball with hands, fast bat speed, works inside the ball, level path to extension, ball jumps off bat, gap to gap approach, pull side power. In the outfield, over the top arm slot, clean transfer and throw, works behind the ball with controlled actions during exchange and throw, 75 mph positional velocity. On the infield, fields ball out front, fluid footwork to the ball, quick catch and throw, short over the top arm slot, clean transfers, 71 mph positional velocity.
