Prep Baseball Kansas City Winter Watchlist
As we roll through the winter, our Kansas City staff has a short list of players we’re especially fired up to see as showcase season heats up ahead of a massive 2026 spring. Follow along as we highlight some of the standout players we’ll be tracking at winter showcases, names we’re excited about now and expect to make serious noise heading into 2026.
Middle Infielders

Troy Fisher SS / C / Liberty North, MO / 2026Rankings StateRank: 16 / POS: 3
Troy Fisher is a player we’ve had our eyes on since seeing him this summer with the Royals Scout Team. He passes the eye test with a pro shortstop build at 6-foot-3, 198 pounds. His movements in the box were encouraging, and his infield actions showed real upside. Fisher committed to Arkansas in August, and we believe the sky is the limit for him in a program like that. Last weekend at the MOKAN Preseason ID, he showed clear strength gains, posting a 104.4 max exit velocity and an 81.1 max bat speed.

William Pepper SS / RHP / Spring Hill, KS / 2028Rankings StateRank: 4 / POS: 2
William Pepper has really impressed us over the last year, climbing into the No. 2 spot among 2028 shortstops in Kansas. He’s made noticeable physical strides and capped off the summer with an outstanding showing at the Central Super Sophomore Games. Pepper followed that up with a strong performance at the MOKAN Preseason ID, posting a 97.3 max exit velocity, an 89 mph infield velocity, and a 27.1-inch vertical jump.

Kellen Sears SS / RHP / Blue Valley Northwest, KS / 2029Rankings StateRank: 10 / POS: 3
Kellen Sears is an exciting 2029 infielder with a chance to really excel thanks to his 6-foot-3 frame. Heading into his freshman spring, we’re excited to see the progress he makes over the next year—both physically and skill-wise. At the MOKAN Preseason ID, Sears posted solid numbers, including a 93.3 mph max exit velocity and an 82 mph infield velocity.

Easton Vesey SS / RHP / Gardner-Edgerton, KS / 2029Vesey has emerged as the No. 1 player in his class and has already earned a national ranking of No. 167 before his high school career has even started. The Gardner-Edgerton freshman performed well in front of our staff at the Futures Games and continued to stand out all summer in our Prep Baseball KC tournaments. At the MOKAN Preseason ID, Vesey posted a 93.6 mph max exit velocity and an 85 mph infield velocity. Even more impressive, his bat speed reached 83 mph, which is above average regardless of class.

Brodee Rawlins SS / RHP / Olathe South, KS / 2028Rankings StateRank: 3 / POS: 1
Brodee Rawlins has held onto his spot as the No. 1 shortstop in the state of Kansas, even as others have made major jumps. He’s continued to improve steadily over the past year and consistently shows some of the best bat-to-ball skills in the class. This spring, Rawlins will look to enter his second season as the starting shortstop for Olathe South as a sophomore, and we’re excited to see how much he’s improved over the winter. At the MOKAN Preseason ID, he posted a 97 mph max exit velocity and an 88 mph infield velocity.

Max Juhl SS / RHP / Liberty North, MO / 2029Max is another one of our exciting 2029 shortstops, bringing a strong mix of athleticism, skill, and an encouraging frame. We saw him a lot this past spring and summer with Building Champions, and his 6-foot-1 build paired with his overall athletic ability really stood out. We can’t wait to see what the 2025 Junior Future Gamer brings to the Kansas Preseason ID this Saturday and how he continues to take his game to the next level.
