The 2025 Idaho High School baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Idaho.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in their respective State Championship Tournament, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview these individual programs across Idaho. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power Rankings.

2025 TEAM OUTLOOK

Conference: High Country
2024 Record: 8-15

+ No. Returning Positional Starters: 7
+ No. Returning Pitchers: 6

Rigby enters the 2025 season returning a majority of starters from last spring, including seven positional players and six arms who will look to lead the program deep into the post season. This team has a group of seniors who look to help take this team into the playoffs. The team is under the leadership of Sam Phillips, his offense had team BA of .299 last spring in a strong conference. The look to make their way into the post season this spring. 

TOP RETURNING PLAYERS

Of the many Trojans starters returning this year '25 Kace Stapleton INF/RHP (Uncommitted)  is one that looks to help lead the Trojans offensively and defensively. Last season Stapleton led the team almost all offensive stats, and posted a 3.41 ERA in 41 innings pitched. After not playing in the 2024 season, '25 Easton Wageman (Uncommitted) looks to return as one of the top players for Rigby, as a sophomore he hit for a .240 average and had most of his plate appearances on varsity. 

'26 DJ Boudrero OF/RHP (Uncommitted) played in 22 games a sophomore, he hit for a .328 average while blasting 7 XBH, one of which was a home run.  Boudrero finds a way to get the barrel on the ball only striking out 6 times all last spring. '25 Easton Allen UTIL/RHP (Uncommitted) the junior saw some time on varsity last season where he had a +.500 OBP and was able to make some significant gains in the off season. The Trojans have a sophomore that saw time on jv and varsity last season, '27 Gunnar Davis MIF (Uncommited) played in 13 games on varsity as a freshmen where he hit for a .286 average with seven stolen bases. Davis looks to make a big impact for Rigby this spring.

TOP NEWCOMERS

Rigby's top newcomers are thought of as some of the team's top underclass players and they'll have the ability to make an impact on the program for years to come. Though there are many returning one newcomer that stands out is '27 Kadyn Hench 1B/LHP (Uncommitted), Hench was a strong player last year on jv with a 2.5 ERA and had an impact at the plate. '26 Scott Lounsbury IF/RHP saw a majority of his time on jv last spring where he hit for a .434 BA and had 15 RBI's. Lounsbury has the opportunity to be competitive and compete at a high level for the Trojans this spring. 

With a strong crop of returning upperclassmen, as well as a jolt of production from their guys moving up through the program. Rigby looks to be a strong contender this year in the 5A class and find a way into the State Tournament.
