By: Cooper Trinkle (Scouting Director)

Brandon Logan OF / Fort Wayne, IN / 2025

I caught Logan in a brief look this past week. He faced a below-average arm and did what he was expected to do, turning in a 3-for-4 night with three singles on the night. The 6-foot, 192 pound dual-sport Notre Dame commit showed off the offensive adjustments we saw at this years’ Super 60, a more upright, athletic stance with an on-plane swing that allows him to use the whole field. He turned in a 70 run time and the feet are his best tool, though he did not get the opportunity to show his ball-hawking abilities in CF on this night. Logan hit a pair of homers that night after I saw him, something I expected to see from him this spring as his frame continues to pack on lean muscle. Logan stood on the top step all game, highly-engaged with a calm, cerebral demeanor. A crowd of around a dozen scouts were in attendance for Logan on this night.

Alex Barr LHP / Kankakee Valley High School, IN / 2025

A 6-foot-2, 200-pound southpaw committed to Indiana University with a sturdy-hipped frame & room for continued physical development. Barr uses an aggressive drop-and-drive delivery following a fluid inward turn lift, uncoiling well with a loose, whippy arm action following. His fastball sat at 90–93 mph, touching 94 on his best bullet in this look, and the heater plays with above average ride through the zone. Complementing his fastball, he used a 70–74 mph curveball with spin rates in the 2300–2400 rpm range, offering depth and potential as an out pitch. He also mixes in a changeup at 80 mph, and showed a flatter, firmer slider in warmups. In this look versus Andrean, Barr showed quality fastball command at times with the ability to go in & out. In this look - Barr went 4.2 innings on a pitch count, allowing just one hit, no earned runs, issuing two walks, and striking out nine batters, with 66% of his pitches landing for strikes.

JD Stein SS / Carmel, IN / 2025

I caught Stein in a double-header look versus Penn. He did not have his best day offensively, off-time for most of the day, but he did get off a well-timed hack (video below) that ended up as an L8. He turned in several H-1st times that ranged from 4.25 to 4.33, 45-55 grade times for a RHH, and there was limited swing-and-miss throughout the day. He showed best as a defender in this look, showing off soft hands and bouncy feet with his plus arm playing from multiple slots, and from a quick release.

Mason Braun OF / 1B / Penn High School, IN / 2025

Braun showed off his tool in bunches during this look - a stocky, strong, 5-foot-11, 205 pound left-handed hitter w a bat-first profile. He finished the double header 6-for-8, including a double, a homer, and (4) runs batted in. The swing featured a slower paced, early leg kick that worked in-sync with a big barrel tip to trigger an explosive swing. When fully synced, he gets off double plus bat speeds - evident in the pull-side double and back-side homer that easily left the bat with triple digit exit velocities. He played RF on this day and showed as a serviceable defender, with average arm strength. I did not get a straight run time on him in this look, but I did get a 3.88 on a drag single and a 3.5 on a steal time. His overall game is elevated by a high motor and he brought infectious energy and leadership to the Penn dugout.

Mason Barth SS / RHP / Andrean , IN / 2025

I saw a handful of at-bats from Barth throughout the week and he continues to establish himself as one of the premier in-game players in the class. I first saw him versus Alex Barr earlier this week. My big takeaway from that game was Barth’s comfortability versus velocity - there was not a swing-and-miss from him in this look and he turned around low-90s velocities rather easily. He continued to hit during our Indiana Series at Championship Park - collecting a handful of hits and showing above average speed with several stolen bases. The Notre Dame recruit continues to develop as a switch-hitter, as well. I saw him hit RH versus Barr, his natural side, and he has made steady gains from the left-side as well. I still prefer the right over left, but the left side is beginning to show more polish. In total, the offensive profile is what I value here. If Barth lands on campus in South Bend, the offensive profile should allow him to contribute very early in his career. Barth pitched, and played both SS and 3B in my looks, showing fundamental actions and reliable hands, with enough arm strength to reach 90 mph on the bump.

Austin McNabb RHP / Perry Meridian , IN / 2025

I saw McNabb versus Mooresville and the 6-foot-4 athletic right-hander has added noticeable strength to his frame. There is a more noticeable inward turn atop the leg lift as his hips tilt into the drive. It is a loose, clean arm that follows into a high ¾ and he can get the fastball to upshoot arm-side, along with sinking it, and he threw a sharp-at-times slider at 78-81. The slider shows flashes but will flatten on occasion. The outlier release traits add deception and there is a high ceiling here. He pitched at 90-92 early before settling at 87-90 thru 5 innings. The fastball command was sub-par in this look with arm-side misses as the prevalent miss.

WIll Jaisle RHP / Batesville High School, IN / 2025

I caught Jaisle’s start last week and he brought a physical, 6-foot-1, 205 pound frame to the rubber. The Notre Dame recruit pitched at 89-91 in the first with a 92 and 93 each, before settling on a 88-91 heater through three. The fastball will flash late cut at times and he showed some control lapses with its’ movement in this early season look. He pitched four innings in total with 9 strikeouts on the night. His true S/M slider wiped hitters out late in-counts and played into the low-80s with sharp bite to get several of those punchouts. It is likely the best SL in the class and comes from a supinated ¾ arm slot from the strong armed righty. He also flashed a sinker-like change on occasion that played at ~83 on avg. Jaisle uses a strong lower half to uncoil into an aggressive downhill move down the slope.

Huston Dunn SS / 3B / Fishers, IN / 2025

I have seen scattered at-bats of Dunn throughout the beginning of his senior spring and I continue to be impressed with the offensive profile he brings. His 6-foot-2 frame looks a bit more lean this spring with the same strength that began to blossom in his junior year. He’s added some pre-pitch rhythm that provides a hitterish look & it appears to kickstart the bat to add more bat speed than I’ve seen of him previously.

Eli Bennett 1B / OF / Cathedral, IN / 2025

I have seen about 10 at-bats from Bennett this spring and the body comp improvements from last summer to now are noticeable. He is all of 6-foot-3 and likely hovers around 200 pounds with a stronger look and the frame still has room to add. He is hitting out of a tall stance with pre-coiled hips. He uses a heavier forward move and the bat plays with strength on a rotational plane. I am happy to see the athleticism & overall explosiveness begin to trend up - and his plate discipline has stood out to me in the handful of at-bats I’ve gotten on him so far. I have gotten one run time on him this spring, and it was a 4.4.

Grayson Bradberry RHP /  Columbia City High School, IN / 2025

Bradberry got the start versus Center Grove at Championship Park and he worked 4 innings against the states’ top-ranked lineup, allowing 4 H, 5 ER, 5 BB, while he punched 4. The 6-foot, 180 pound Butler commit pitched at 87-90 on a low-slot fastball that played with arm-side run. He showed three breaking balls, a firm 84-86 CT, a low-80s slider that plays with sweep, and a mid-70s version of the slider that plays with bigger shape. He also showed a 82-83 change that played with fade and inconsistent control in this look. Bradberry is an athletic mover with a high leg lift that flows with athleticism into a drop-and-drive move that lands crossfired.

Aiden Kerr C / RHP / Perry Meridian High School, IN / 2025

Kerr continues to carry stocky strength in his 6-foot-1, 220 pound frame and showed well vs. Mooresville. It is easily one of the top three catcher arms I’ve seen this spring, and that is a conservative take - with Dunlap as the only rival to this point. The ball jumps out of his hand and plays with carry. He connected on a big double early where he showed off his top-end bat speed and obvious advanced raw power that will likely give him a chance to plug into the middle of the order for Coach Schreiber & company at some point in his career at PFW. I noticed a bit of a different move than I remember of him - it is a more linear, grounded toe tap move towards the ball. The bat speed and on-plane nature of the upper half looked familiar and I walk away impressed overall as he impacted this game in a big way with his arm strength to shut down a run-heavy offense.

By : Kellen Northam (Southern Indiana Area Scout)

Cal Gates OF /  Bedford North Lawrence, IN / 2025

One-man show for the majority of the night, started the game off with a deep count won on a high heater, spoiled plenty of good pitches but never came off approach or got too big, second AB showed ability to cover outer half with a laced 3B over the LF, showed real speed by turning a surefire 2B into a relatively easy 3B, covered plenty of ground in CF while showcasing strong arm during I/O. On the mound, flashed a quality heater with clean delivery, sat 84-86 but jumped to 88 twice, CB at 74-76 was used infrequently but kept hitters off balance when shown, worked in and out of trouble to work 4 clean innings. Great athleticism and feel for the game.

Charlie Sollars RHP / Andrean High School, IN / 2025

Had an impressive outing on the mound with a 87-89 T90 FB/Sinker with a tight SL at 75-76 that he had full command of, dove away from RHH and was missing plenty of barrels, easy operation on the mound and mixed slide step and high leg kick well.

By: Conner Madding (Indiana Area Scout & Director of Operations/Content)

Luke Neiswonger SS / RHP Homestead HighSchool, IN / 2025

+ (1st edition) -  + FROM (Conner Madding) - Neiswonger provided an intruiging early season look on the bump in his senior campaign. The 6-foot-2, 200 pounder held 90-92 mph for two innings and touched 93 twice. The fastball showed arm-side life and he got some swings-and-misses in the zone. The 77-79 mph slider is a future wipeout, playing with sweep. He also flashed a low 80s changeup with sinking action, another above average secondary offering. The delivery is athletic and the arm works loose and fast to a lower arm slot. Neiswonger was inconsistent in commanding his secondary offerings and had some traffic on the bases in his second inning. The stuff, arm action, and athleticism was impressive nonetheless and I’m eager to see how the two-way Central Michigan commit looks the rest of the spring.

2nd edition - I got another look at Neiswonger on the bump in Kokomo this past Friday night. He was impressive, pitching at 88-91 mph and touching 92 on his best bullet in the first inning. The fastball played with arm-side life. He used a 73-76 mph slurvey breaking ball often, it drew chase and he was comfortable landing it whenever necessary. The pitch flashed real bite and he manipulated the shape. Neiswonger was also confident in throwing a 81-83 mph changeup to both righties and lefties. It played with heavy arm-side fade and induced swing-and-miss. The Homestead righty went five scoreless innings, punching fourteen batters and walking zero. My biggest takeaway from this outing was the overall command taking a big step up from my prior look on April 3rd.

Trent Kulig RHP / Andrean, IN / 2025

I caught Kulig’s second start of the spring at Championship Park in Kokomo versus Columbus North. He turned in a quality start, striking-out eleven in six innings of two-run baseball. The physical, 6-foot-4, 220 pounder came out 89-92 in the first inning, touching 93 once. He settled in at 88-90 mph the rest of his outing. The heater played with life and occasional cutting action, missing bats when in the zone. He showed two breaking balls in this look, a 75-78 curveball with some depth and a 80-83 mph slider with more sweeping action. Kulig showed some feel to backdoor to both offerings to lefties and drew some chase when thrown to righties. He flashed a mid 80s changeup, showing fringy command in this look. The Andrean righty has a slower tempo delivery, lifting to a strong balance, the shoulders remain in-line down the slope. The arm works longer and quick to a ¾ slot, a touch lower than we have seen from him in the past.

Kai Kunz RHP /  Jasper, IN / 2025

Kunz was dominant when I got a look at him in a Saturday start. An imposing presence at 6-foot-5, 240 pounds, he touched 91 once in the first inning and once in the second before settling in at 87-89 and the occasional 90 the last three innings. Kunz got a ton of swing-and-miss with the heater in the zone, it played with ride through the zone and flashed ride/run properties. He showed a 74-77 mph slider a handful of times, an average pitch at this time. Kunz works with some pace to a taller balance point before a controlled, simple move down the slope. The arm works uninterrupted to a ¾ slot and the ball really jumps out of the hand. The uncommitted senior punched twelve batters, walked one, and allowed two hits in his five innings of work. Kunz is a late-blooming uncommitted senior arm from the southern part of the state for college recruiters to check in on this spring.
