NJCAA Baseball Standings Update – March 5, 2025

With the college baseball season in full swing, teams across the NJCAA divisions, and in particular Region X here in VA, NC, and SC, are battling for top spots in their respective conferences. Let’s break down the latest standings in Region X as of March 5, 2025.

Division I – USC Union With a Quick Start

USC Union is off to a very good start in 2025, boasting a stellar 17-1 overall record and an 5-1 start in conference play. Florence-Darlington Technical College and Gaston College are still the teams to watch, having already played one series this year against each other. While early, especially with so much weighing on the post-season tournament, it is time for teams to begin to close ground if they want a higher seed in May.

Division II – Lenoir and Brunswick Battle for the East

The DII East race is tight, with Lenoir Community College and Brunswick Community College tied at the top with 4-2 conference records. In the West, Cleveland Community College (15-3 overall) has played well, but Catawba Valley and Wake Tech are keeping the pressure on.

The one thing that has become evident in the past couple of years is the growth of talent in Region X. The DII standings showcase the depth the Region is beginning to cyle through each year. It is early in 2025. We expect to see these tables turn throughout the year as teams begin to find consistent footing.

Division III – Surry CC Leads the Way

In DIII action, Surry Community College (11-4 overall, 2-1 in conference) holds the early lead. Rockingham CC is looking to keep pace. The rest of the division will be in full swing in the coming weeks.

Region X JUCO Baseball: Top Performers of the Season So Far

As the Region X JUCO baseball season heats up, several standout players are making their mark on the stat sheets. From big bats to dominant arms, here’s a look at the top offensive and pitching performers across the conference.

🔥 Division I – USC Union Bats Lead the Way

USC Union has been lighting it up offensively, with Mason Elrod leading all hitters with a scorching .479 batting average. Meanwhile, Florence-Darlington’s Zack Hunt has been a run-producing machine, driving in 29 RBIs, while Gaston College’s Joey Nicholson and Daniel Parris share the home run lead with six bombs each. On the basepaths, Josh Jackson (USC Union) is a nightmare for pitchers, swiping 21 bags so far this season.

Southeastern CC’s Jackson Crute boasts the highest batting average in Region X at .486, while Catawba Valley’s Mason Mozeley has been an all-around force, leading in both RBIs (26) and home runs (6). On the bases, Cleveland CC’s Logan Norris is the biggest speed threat, stealing 16 bases.

Surry Community College’s Elijah Palmer is putting up video-game numbers, leading DIII in both batting average (.500) and RBIs (20). Virginia Peninsula’s Aidan Feather is showing off his power, launching six home runs, while Jacob Avant (Camp CC) leads the division in stolen bases (16).

Daniel Parris (Gaston College) is proving to be a two-way stud, leading in wins (4) while also racking up 28 strikeouts. Teammate Noah Zimmerman holds the strikeout lead with 34 Ks, while Carson Bay (USC Union) has been the biggest winner so far, tallying five victories.

Pitt Community College’s Luke Lambert has been unhittable, posting a ridiculous 0.61 ERA. Meanwhile, Patrick & Henry’s Ty Goodson and Cleveland CC’s Jackson Gowan each have four wins, and Dylan Grabowski (Patrick & Henry) leads Region X with 33 Ks.

Braden Sanders (Camp CC) leads DIII with a 1.20 ERA, while Brooks Kinser (Surry CC) has already racked up four wins. Caldwell’s Hunter Sherrill is proving to be a strikeout artist, leading the division with 28 punchouts.
