Coach Outlook: "We may look younger on paper this season, but we still return a meaningful core of varsity experience. We graduate an All‑State shortstop in Ben Voegele, a four‑year varsity player, along with four key arms — Nolan Ertel, Kerry Snyder, Colin Leal, and Carson Sackenheim — who carried the bulk of the innings last year. However, we also had several sophomores in the lineup in 2025, including Second Team All‑League infielder Josiah Lynch. That group is now a year older, more confident, and brings valuable varsity experience into 2026. Behind the plate, junior Gavin Burns returns after a strong sophomore campaign both defensively and offensively. He is expected to anchor the middle of the order this season. Our senior leadership comes from Griffin Mueller (Mount St. Joseph commit) and Bryce Fulmer, both of whom had standout seasons in 2025. Mueller is a four‑year varsity letter winner and has started the last three seasons in center field. Together, Fulmer and Mueller solidify our defense up the middle at 2B and CF. Brady Gillespie (Hope College commit) is the third returning senior and will continue to play an important role. Lincoln Mackie is another senior that will compete for a spot in the infield and on the mound. In the outfield, junior Levi Smith returns after a strong sophomore year in which he spent most of the season hitting in the cleanup spot. Junior Wyatt Bulach is another key returner; he provides a left‑handed arm on the mound, will hit in the middle of the order, and will compete for a corner outfield position. He threw 13.2 innings last season and had big outings against non conference foes. We also have a deep group of talented sophomore arms who are expected to make an impact at the varsity level in 2026."

Coach Outlook: "It is always difficult to lose the last game of the season, but even more so when it comes on the biggest stage. Getting to Akron was a phenomenal achievement and created lifelong memories for our program. 2025 was an amazing season and a fitting one at that, given how special that senior class was. The program has come a long way since this staff took over after COVID, and a huge reason for that was the contributions of those young men. We will miss their leadership and production. The 2026 season will test our ability to develop a pitching staff. We should be in a good place offensively and defensively. But, we lose 133 innings from last year's staff. We do return Crew Bellan, who was outstanding in the playoffs a year ago, throwing 18 innings, allowing just 4 hits, 0 earned runs, issuing just 2 walks, and striking out 22 batters. After Crew, we are hoping to see senior Cam Ryan, junior Nolan Wujnovich and sophomore Miles Wolf step up and fill out the rotation. Offensively, we will be led by the Nelson brothers. Deacon (2026 - Auburn) and Jack (2027 - uncommitted), a year ago combined for 75 hits, 63 runs batted in and 57 runs scored. We return one of the best catching duo's in the state with senior Cayden Zelenak and junior Bobby Berglund. We expect juniors Johnathan Pleasant and Jack Childs to make big strides this offseason and compete for starting spots."
