Prep Baseball Louisiana: 2026 Diamond Notes (Week 4)

The Prep Baseball Louisiana Diamond Notes serves as an opportunity for our staff to highlight players, from across the state, that put up impressive performances on a given week, yet fell short of our Mizuno Player & Pitcher of the Week honors. 

NOTE: These submissions were provided from high school coaches from around the state.  If you are a coach and are interested in submitting a player for our weekly Player of the Week awards, please contact State Director Alex Armand at [email protected].  Our Diamond Notes will be released each Wednesday throughout the high school spring season.

 

Pitcher of the Week (Week 4)

Kade Luker LHP / OF / Cedar Creek, LA / 2027

Luker had another stellar start in Week 4 to move his season record to 4-0. The former Future Gamer and LSU commit threw 7 innings anda allowed 0 earned runs with 0 walks and 12 strikeouts last week against Loyola College Prep. He also went 4-for-8 (.500) at the plate with a double, 7 runs scored, and 3 stolen bases.

 

 

Player of the Week (Week 4)

Cooper Hawkins OF / St. Thomas More, LA / 2027

The former Future Gamer and Southern Miss commit was red-hot at the plate in Week 4 for the Cougars. Hawkins finished the week hitting .400 with 3 home runs, 2 doubles, 10 runs batted in, and 4 runs scored.

 

 

Other Notable Performances (Week 3)

Parker Davis 3B / RHP / Evangel Christian Academy, LA / 2028

The sophomore right-hander threw a complete-game last week for the Eagles and allowed only 1 run with 1 walk and 10 strikeouts.

Mills Richardson RHP / 2B / Catholic BR, LA / 2026

The former Future Gamer and Southeastern Louisiana recruit threw 6 no-hit innings against Presbyterian Christian (MS) last week with 4 walks and 6 strikeouts to lead the Bears to the 6-0 victory.

Tate Collins RHP / Erath, LA / 2028

The sophomore right-hander threw 8 innings last week against Pope John Paul and allowed only 1 hit and 0 earned runs with 4 walks and 7 strikeouts.

Carter Champagne SS / RHP / Erath, LA / 2027

Champagne earned the win against Class 5A Live Oak last week after tossing 6 shutout innings, allowing only 1 hit with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts.

Blaze Duhon LHP / 1B / North Vermilion, LA / 2026

The South Arkansas College recruit went 6-for-11 with 3 home runs, 5 runs batted in, and 4 runs scored in the Patriots four games last week.

Corey Bourgeois 3B / RHP / Vandebilt Catholic, LA / 2028

Bourgeois went 9-for-14 (.643) with a .667 on-base percentage last week. In the Terriers four games, he hit a home run, 3 doubles, and 1 triple, and drove in 5 runs, while scoring another 7.

Spencer Guilbeau OF / RHP / Vandebilt Catholic, LA / 2026

The Nunez Community College recruit went 5-for-12 (.417) last week with 1 home run, 3 doubles, 8 runs batted in, and 4 runs scored.

Jace Jarveaux RHP / Vandebilt Catholic, LA / 2026

The senior right-hander tossed 8.2 innings total innings last week to earn a win and a save. Jarveaux threw a complete-game shutout against Southside and then earned the save against St. Amant. He allowed 0 runs on the week with 0 walks and 10 strikeouts.

Peyton Vizena RHP / C / St. Edmund Catholic, LA / 2026

Vizena went 5-for-9 (.556) with runs scored in the Blue Jays four games last week. He also threw 3 shutout innings with 3 strikeouts.

Hudson Simon LHP / OF / St. Edmund Catholic, LA / 2027

Simon went 4-for-9 (.444) with 7 runs batted in and 2 runs scored in the Blue Jays four games last week.

Noah Sullivan RHP / Zachary, LA / 2026

The Louisiana Tech recruit tossed another complete-game shutout last week against St. Charles Catholic and allowed only 1 hit with 1 walk and 8 strikeouts.

Wyatt Dubois 2B / St. Edmund Catholic, LA / 2026

Dubois went 5-for-11 (.455) with a .538 on-base percentage last week and scored 3 runs with 2 walks and 3 stolen bases.

Max Smith C / 3B / St. Edmund Catholic, LA / 2028

Smith went 3-for-7 (.429) with 3 runs batted in and 4 runs scored in the Blue Jays four games last week.

Carter Wilson LHP / OF / Sulphur, LA / 2026

Wilson earned the win against St. Thomas More last week after throwing a complete-game allowing 1 run with 6 strikeouts. The McNeese State recruit also went 4-for-12 with a home run, double, and 7 runs batted in on the week.

Noah Courtney OF / 1B / Sulphur, LA / 2028

Courtney went 8-for-18 at the plate last week for the Tors with 3 doubles and drove in 4 runs.

Bryson Hardy OF / Sulphur, LA / 2028

Hardy went 7-for-15 with 1 double and scored 6 runs for Sulphur last week.

Wyatt Whitney Lafayette Christian Academy, LA / 2028

Whitney went 5-for-10 (.500) with a double, 3 runs batted in, and 3 runs scored last week. He also earned the win on the mound against Loyola, after throwing 3 no-hit innings with 6 strikeouts.

Braylon Lemaire 1B / LHP / Lafayette Christian Academy, LA / 2027

Lemaire went 4-for-10 (.400) with 4 runs batted in last week and also earned the win against Kinder, after throwing 7 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits with 4 strikeouts.

Jaxson Hill OF / 3B / Fontainebleau, LA / 2026

Hill went 11-for-18 (.611) with a 1.348 OPS last week for the Bulldogs. He notched 1 double and drove in 3 runs, while scoring another 3 runs.

Kannon Templet SS / RHP / Southside, LA / 2026

The Coastal Alabama-North recruit went 5-for-14 with 1 home run, 3 doubles, 1 triple, and stole 2 bases last week. He also thew 6 innings against Vandebilt Catholic and allowed only 1 earned run with 11 strikeouts.

Parker Dies OF / Southside, LA / 2027

The junior left-handed hitter went 4-for-11 with 1 home run, 1 double, and stole 4 bases.

Clay Aguillard 1B / RHP / St. Edmund Catholic, LA / 2026

Aguillard earned the win against Glenmora last week after tossing a complete-game allowing 2 runs with 4 strikeouts.

Paxon Myers LHP / OF / St. Edmund Catholic, LA / 2028

Myers went 4-for-12 (.333) with 2 runs batted in and drew 2 walks at the plate last week. He also threw a complete game against Oakdale and allowed 3 earned runs with 9 strikeouts.

Peyton Vizena C / St. Edmund Catholic, LA / 2026

Vizena went 6-for-14 with 4 runs batted in last week and also went 2-0 on the mound with 5 strikeouts across 6.2 innings.

Max Smith C/ 3B / St. Edmund Catholic, LA / 2028

Smith went 5-for-16 with 4 runs batted in and 3 walks last week for the Blue Jays.
