The Prep Baseball Louisiana High School Player of the Week highlights the best performance from a Bayou State player from the previous week.  Each week, high school coaches are emailed and asked to send in their nominees for Pitcher and Player of the Week.  If you wish to nominate someone for Player or Pitcher of the Week, please email Alex Armand at [email protected]

While there can only be one pitcher and player of the week, our Diamond Notes, which are released every Wedensday, are intended to shine a spotlight on other noteworthy performances from the previous week.

2027 INF/RHP Barrett Coody (Rosepine HS)

 

 

Week 3 Stats

-Average: .611

-Homeruns: 2

-Doubles: 4

-Triples: 1

-Runs Batted In: 9

-Runs Scored: 7

-Stolen Bases: 3

Coody continues to be one of the hottest hitters in the entire state this spring, and he kept his foot on the gas in Week 3 for the Eagles.

The former Future Gamer and Northwestern State commit went a blistering 11-for-18 (.611) on the week, launching 2 home runs while adding 4 doubles and a triple. He drove in 9 runs, scored 7 times, and swiped 3 bases—impacting the game in virtually every phase.

On the season, Coody is now slashing .535 with 7 home runs, 22 RBI, and 20 runs scored, cementing himself as one of the premier offensive performers in Louisiana through the first stretch of the year.
