2027 1B/RHP Nico Busalacchi, Del Oro

Unfortunately, the game yesterday got called due to darkness, ending it in the 8th, but Busalacchi’s efforts in that were nothing short of spectacular. At the plate, he managed to go 2-4 with a single that was laced off of the pitchers back early in the game. The frame and body look good, he’s lost some weight from last season and gained muscle, it was very noticeable when he was standing in the box and running down the line. Busalacchi got to step on the mound in relief for the Golden Eagles, he threw two shutdown innings of work with 5 strikeouts and no walks. The fastball was sitting between 83-85 mph T86, his slider had a sharp bite to it and was sitting 75-77 mph, generating a lot of swing and miss. After seeing Busalacchi step on the mound, there is definitely a possibility of him trying to do both, we’ve also seen him recently at Stanford in the outfield, so he’s only going to raise his stock by being so versatile.
