Over the next few weeks, leading up to the beginning of the 2026 MD High School season, our staff will be releasing our Preseason Power 25. This list will be comprised of public and private schools across the state that we feel have a strong chance of being successful in 2026.

#2 Calvert Hall Cardinals 

The Cardinals have been an upper-echelon team in this conference for some time now, and nothing changes in 2026. A roster that departs a handful of impact players on both sides of the ball from a year ago, don't confuse that with a lack of talent on this year's roster, as the depth may just be better than it has in recent years. Upperclassman leadership on the bump provides Coach Kerr with a plethora of options and the versatility on the backend should be exciting to watch. A highly talented junior class will look to spark the offense, while proven senior leadership should add some consistency in the middle. If the pitching staff can stay consistent, and this offense can provide sparks 1-9, this Cardinals team has every opportunity to take the conference this spring.
