Over the next few weeks, leading up to the beginning of the 2026 MD High School season, our staff will be releasing our Preseason Power 25. This list will be comprised of public and private schools across the state that we feel have a strong chance of being successful in 2026.

#3 Mount St. Joseph Gaels 

A roster that is loaded on both sides of the ball, look for this Gaels team to finally make a run at an MIAA "A" title. The pitching talent at the front-end can match up with just about anybody in the state, and if the staff stays healthy, look for the Gaels to compete with any offense in the conference. The offense returns a slew of impact senior leaders throughout the lineup, including an intriguing junior class that looks to add depth. This is a well-balanced roster makeup that has all the potential to not only keep opposing lineups at bay, but also put up runs in a hurry on their own.
