Over the next few weeks, leading up to the beginning of the 2026 MD High School season, our staff will be releasing our Preseason Power 25. This list will be comprised of public and private schools across the state that we feel have a strong chance of being successful in 2026.

#7 Oakdale Bears 

Oakdale made their name known in 2025, and following a 3A State Semi-finals loss last spring, look for the Bears to come out firing in 2026. Still a relatively young core, Coach Schmidt has a ton of impact bats and a talented pitching staff at his disposal, and we see the potential of an even larger jump from this group in 2026. A bona fide ace on the bump, depth behind him and the number two 2028 in MD leading the charge at the top of the lineup, look for the Oakdale Bears to make another deep run this spring.
